Replace hot headed pragmatic italian manager with a hot headed attacking german manager.

See you guys in 12 months for the same thread 🤣
Tbf Nagelsmann has this great quote about how management is 70%social competence, 30% tactics. That’s a mile away from the last few years (and exactly what Klopp and Arteta have succeeded with).

No chance we get Arne Slot. Levy won't accept a bald manager to rival him. That's why he rejected Ten Hag and that's why he was cautious in hiring Conte at first, until Tony C showed him his wig.

What if the pissed off players are the ones we want to keep ?
He's 35... even Ancelotti or Bielsa can't keep all players happy all the time... Nagelsmann is very clever and smart for his age... already tried a lot. But of course he still has things to learn. I think he needs a club in between the size of Bayern and Leipzig now... Tottenham could well be a good fit.

I think people have to take into account that Bayern Munich have been untouchable at the top of the bundesliga for a decade and the players that did that have aged and moved on and with any rebuild at a club like that the old timers cling on and think they know better. That's where they are at the moment.

I think where my frustration currently lies is I believe if this were another top side something would be somewhat quickly, and with conviction. Hindsight is everything so this could mean F all in a few weeks time.

I think if a top PL side wanted Slot, they would have it wrapped up for now or the Summer. I don't think it would be considered a "long shot" (putting 2+2 together) getting a manager from the dutch league, with no disrespect. Sure he may want to stay on and lead the title charge, but I just think at the end of the day another club gets it done in whatever means possible.

Other journos and murmurs say we were in/close to Tuchel. Unless we're playing some sort of chess, Bayern caught wind, sacked their coach and locked in on Tuchel because they believe he is their guy in the same time we're putting feelers out.

Not trying to be overly negative, and I'm taking everything with large pinches of salt, but I just want the club to act with conviction. The signs to me just seem that there is not complete buy in again from everyone on the board and we sniff around in different areas until something falls perfectly into our lap. At the end of the day, we'll see how this plays out.

Come on, it's not like they've known Conte was leaving for months or anything

It’s like us but with players who have won nothing. I’d love for us to get Nagelsmann and just get Steidten or Mitchell and let a rebuild play out. Sell Kane if he doesn’t want to hang around (couldn’t blame him) and start a new chapter.

I think we need a motivational coach for 10 games if our main targets only want the summer.
I see no point compromising a better summer option high on the list for a 5th/6th choice available now.

Go throw a chunk of cash Zidanes way and see if he fancies 10 games in charge 🤷🏻‍♂️

The merry go round of Poch, Tuchel, Nagelsmann, De Zerbie, Enrique and Slot is very similar to the new manager hunt of 2021. Given how that ended this will only conclude one way:

Sounds a bit like us besides that our old timers that have clinged on have won f*ck all with us.

Haven't even got shot of Conte yet and it's becoming very complicated.

Nagelsmann available but probably not til the Summer and we have to try to push on and get CL.
Arne Slot supposedly well in the running but same as above.
Gallardo not even at the races but should be.
Amorim will want to see the season out too.
DeZerbi same again.
Postecoglou bit of a wild card but exciting.
Pochettino maybe hoping for Real Madrid.
Enrique probably needs a load of new players.

Whatever happens, I hope we get it done early enough for the new bloke to have a decent chance, but I can see us faffing around trying to land a big fish on a light line, watch it swim away last minute and then dive into the river and try to catch any old fish with our bare hands.

I would happily wait for Nagelsmann in the summer but only if we can reach a pre-agreement and lock him in. I don’t think we should be waiting around hoping he’ll come.

Tier 1:
- Tuchel (Bayern)
- Nagelsmann
- Poch (Madrid?)
- Enrique

Tier 2:
- Slot
- Amorim
- De Zerbi
- Ange
- Gallardo

Tier 3:
- Kompany
- Xabi Alonso
- Carrick

This would probably be my tiered shortlist and it's essentially tier 1 are managers that have managed massive clubs, tier 2 are managers that are in the next tier, some European experience, some more experienced than others and probably a matter of time before a bigger club tries for them. Tier 3 would be the "next wave" of up and coming managers that probably need some more experience before moving to their next challenge.
