Would love Slot here, but both Paratici and Levy aren't the types to make that type of a signing. Still hopeful it somehow happens.

I think it's pretty obvious we were in for Tuchel asap hence the rush from Bayern so whatever info he got in not sure it's accurate.

Slot sounds great but I agree with what I think you're implying, Levy wants a big name.

Hopefully Paratici is incarcerated soon so we don't get some washed up disheveled manager from Serie B

4-2-3-1. Suddenly, I'm in.

The fullbacks push high while the two centre-backs split and allow the goalkeeper to practically become a third ball-player in a temporary back three.

Bye bye Hugo!

Prof on COYS:

Some info for the COYS night shift.

A short time ago I heard from Galahad for the first time in ages. He said

a) DL has a prioritized list of 5 names.
b) They are trying as hard as possible to get their top choice in now but believe it to be a long shot.
c) For various reasons they'd prefer not to appoint Mason as caretaker but understand that may be a necessity if they can't land their primary target by early next week.

I asked if he knew who was currently top of the list and he replied "Lone Star". I replied "Texas?". He responded with "Liverpool or Rome".

It was quickly deduced that "Lone Star" is an anagram of Arne Slot

We all know itk moves fast so I wonder how old this info is, given the sacking of nagelsmann is very recent. Maybe Slot has been the target thus far but perhaps priorities changed this morning?

Was this posted before JN’s sacking?

re Slot I posted this the other day but I’ll mention it again.

I recently talked to one of my friends who is an Ajax season ticket holder, he lives In Amsterdam, and we were chatting about Slot. He said he was an extremely promising coach but still tactically naive at times. Thought it was far too soon for him to leave, also mentioned Feyanoord have benefited from Ajax being a mess at the moment (although even if that is actually true this is coming from an Ajax fan). He said he thinks he needs to stay at least another season or two and develop further before think about moving and that we would be jumping the gun if we went for him now. He said it would feel like we were regretting missing ETH so went for the new version even tho he isn’t at the same stage of his development.

Obviously this is one person’s opinion and could be wrong but he’s pretty clued up when it comes to Dutch football so I’m inclined to believe him.

It was stick or twist for Bayern.

Based on current results and the muttering of senior players, the view was there was no point “letting” Nagelsmann have the next two critical games if there is a belief he is unlikely to turn it around at this crucial juncture and whilst the natural replacement in the summer might not even be available come summer.

I really do think the Spurs link has rushed Bayern into going ahead now rather than allowing Nagelsmann to give himself enough rope.

If Bayern still fail against Dortmund and City, Nagelsmann’s fault and no harm done as they wouldn’t have won with him right?! Win and what a coup. Political win win for the board.

The only scenario in which sacking Nagelsmann now is wrong is if you sincerely believe he can win the Bundesliga AND have a serious shot at the UCL without having senior players on board. The answer was “not likely” and Bayern can afford to not hang around.

If I was JN though I would be asking if I’m wanting to move from one club where the board are notoriously tricky to another notorious one for other reasons in a more competitive league?!

It was another cryptic Lone Star. Arne Slot is anagram of it.

Besides with last nights news, im sure JN is now top target after previous approaches
Dan K suggesting he's now someone we will target (Nagelsmann that is).

This is the kind of reasoning that I was referring to. It basically says we're too good for the likes of Nagelsman and much as it pains me to say so, we ain't we just ain't.
If he is too much of a risk then there really is nobody who isn't.
Yeah, there's no manager out there that we're too good for. Any manager who has won diddly squat has won as much as we have in the last couple of decades. What makes us too good for any manager? Our stadium, training ground, pillows, revenue, top 4 placements, being considered part of the big six due to financial standing only, weak minded players?

I don't think any of the above makes us too good for anyone. It's just about football style preference that could eliminate many possible candidates, but not credentials.

Wouldn't call Nagelsmann hot headed.

Whether he and Levy could agree on important matters is another question, but I think JN always acts very reasonable compared to Antonio or Jose.
