Someone else said it better than me earlier in the thread. The issue hiring Tuchel is not his coaching ability. He’s clearly a really good coach. But he is as volatile as Conte and won’t last 5 mins.
He probably also regards himself as being above the level of Spurs now.

He does have a firm handshake though.

Honestly believe Levy has no qualms about replacing a manager every 2 years or so. If he feels someone like Tuchel coming in gives the club the best chance of finishing top 4 this year and the year after even though he knows it is likely to go pear shaped after that, he'll do it imo and got no problem being back here in 2 years time.

Said it before, but changing managers is like changing his underpants for him. Missing out on the revenue from the CL and not filling the stadium for the games must really irk him and genuinely think he'll opt for someone who HE feels gives the club the best chance of doing that now rather than taking a long term view.

Gallardo really seems like the swing for the fences option and I wish we'd do that.

Ultimately I feel like Levy will go against his better judgement due to the CL $ within reach and hire Tuchel and we will see each other in this thread at this time next year!

The problem is the whole club has its back up against the wall including Levy. He’s not gonna go for the riskiest option when he’s in such a tight spot. Just not his style.

Well for a start;

Gallardo has been quite dominant in South America and is seen as a outlier and inspiration for budding coaches in that region..
South American football is a big step up from Asian football - winning the Copa Libertadores is special.

Amorim has come up against the best coaches in Europe and faired very well.

Celtic haven't done well in Europe.

That gives you some level of how good a coach can be.
Did you watch Celtic in Europe? They didn't convert strong performances into points but then again the quality of the players they have is a level below the Portuguese league.

Like we wouldn't have taken De Zerbi before his spell at Brighton? Celtic were really competitive in their Champions League group. They didn't park the bus, they went after teams and generally just lacked a bit of quality
Postecoglou has said countless times that the one thing he'll refuse to do, is set up defensively, no matter what opposition he faces.

Tuchel and Levy has disaster written all over it. Just bound to implode after two or three transfer windows.

Still sceptical as to whether it will happen but if it does, we all know how it ends. I'm beginning to think Levy cares though as long as in the short term he feels Tuchel gives the club the best chance of finishing top 4 in the next season or two.

Honestly, I’ve seen so many names flying about now, that, if it’s not Poch, I’d be fine with Conte staying if we bought him a pair of CB’s, GK, LWB, and AM.

I'm not saying he should be our man by the way.

But how the fuck is getting Brendan Rodgers 'difficult'?

Which is ridiculous when you think about it because his most successful managerial hire ever was a project manager that definitely wasn't the first choice at the time.

I don't disagree wholesale with your point Re: Postecoglu leading Celtic in Europe - obviously no wins from the six games is not a good record. I would cut him and the team a little slack, though. They performed better in some of those games than the score lines would suggest - the home game against Madrid in particular. The drop-off for playing budget that Celtic operate with compared to the majority of CL sides is very significant, too.
He has a team playing attractive football and has instilled a sense of ruthlessness in them. He has also elevated many of the players' performance levels too. I'd also give him a lot of credit for his recruitment.

All that being said, I'm still not going to make an argument that he'd be the ideal candidate and that Spurs should go all out to get him. However, I wouldn't be entirely surprised if he makes his way to a big team in the near future and acquits himself well.
