I thought we were going to weather their pressure then Micky slipped and then costly error by Pedro. Credit to newcastles pressure. In all of our losses that's usually the difference tbh, it's the bare minimum we ask of them.

Everyone was poor but really was disappointed in Bissouma, slow on the ball, unaware of his surroundings and a few bad giveaways.

Also the first goal IMO comes from son/Madison overplaying - we really just need to take a shot sometimes

I think the.Porro mistake totally fucked us.

Had it stayed 1 nil for longer, we might of got out shit together

The challenge I have with people wanting Ange to switch tactics - we haven't been very good lately with the tactics we actually train - I can't imagine how out of our depth we would be if we switched to something where we have just a few training sessions to work on.

I think the tactics are OK but the intensity has just fallen off a cliff. Start of the season we were pressing the hell out of the opposition. Today we offered nothing and NUFC did exactly that to us. Their pressing energy kept us away from their ropey backline even though we had bags of possession, and when we got close they threw everything at us so we created next to nothing.

Yeah I agree. Not going to harp on Porro either because it's been few mistakes overall from him and Udogie this season in a super attacking side.

Bit worrying Diers interview stating Ange doesn’t do any tactical work at all.. starting to see the consequences of that now.
Dier's comment is probably "We don't do any tactical work about how we are going to play against the other team" rather than "there is no tactical work at all". Ange is investing all of his efforts in getting his players to play consistently his style of play. He has said repeatedly that we are going to do what we do regardless of the opponent.

I'm gonna call it.

We lack someone who can finish chances and HOLD the ball. Sounds familiar?

Yet I seen many dissing we moved past the stage we need Harry Kane. Our style doesn't suit him etc etc. Really?

Losing Kane has been an unmitigated disaster.

Kane impacted the team at both ends of the pitch.

We’ve to date failed to replace all of the areas he once influenced. The fact that we’ve failed to even attempt to replace his goals is criminal

Yes. Adding the goals we have this season in addition to his and now you're cooking, even with the piss poor defending and set pieces. As is, we've managed to maybe tread water. Still fairly impressive but one step forwards, one step backwards by the club as per.

Dear oh dear. That really was bad and honestly lucky to get away with it 'just' being 4-0.. We are nowhere near as aggressive when it comes to putting pressure on the ball as we were in the first few months of the season and think this is a major problem in this system.

It starts from the top and really need a striker who not only has the energy and running to kick it off but knows where and when to put pressure on the ball.

Playing a highline with no pressure on the ball in front of the defence is suicide and if it is not sorted out, this kind of result will be repeated. I'm not completelt won over by Conor Gallagher but I kind of get why Ange would be after him because he does give you that hard running, chasing down that in a crucial part of the field. Maybe he could do a job similar to what Henderson did for Klopp at Liverpool.

Bissouma was playing very well early part of the season and looking push out and put fires out further up the pitch but for a while, he seems more content at sitting and his timing in everything he does seems to be off. I don't know if it's just bad form, the bout of malaria he had or he is just someone who cannot maintain a high level throughout the season but we at the very least need an alternative.

Also need to stop seeing VDV as some sort of get out of jail that we can turn to all the time. Its a massive plus having him at the back but in certain games he is being called upon too much imo and that should be ringing alarm bells during the game amongst all the high fiving/back slapping when he pulls off a recovery.

Said it many times before. We don’t have any individual game changers in our team. To win we need everyone playing collectively at a high level. If we don’t we’re more often than not pretty bad. Need to go big this summer on a goal scoring game changer who teams can be scared of. We’re far too predictable.

Levy is a master at covering up for total failure. This squad is no where near good enough to seriously challenge at the highest level

Part of the problem is that we have a player like LoCelso sat on the bench, and he has the ability to make things happen, but when we need that, Hojbjerg comes on. Giving Gio 10 minutes at the end is too little, too late.

"The fact that we’ve failed to even attempt to replace his goals is criminal"

We have scored more goals this season at this point in time, without him.

Just to add we have conceded more goals than any other top six side, is this because we didn't have Harry playing center back?

Quite obvious where the issue is, and it's nothing to do with losing Kane.

I missed today, anyone able to give me a sensible, brief synopsis of what went wrong? Were we massively outplayed, unlucky, robbed by the ref, just plain shit?

Thanks

Maddison and Son are the definition of game changers
