I really think when you leave as big gaps as our fullback’s do you need to put the lone DM system in the bin. Too much ground for our DM to cover and the CB’s are left so exposed on the counter and during transition/quick turnovers. We need a top DM to play alongside Bissouma/Bentancur in a 2

It's more the fact we don't play an out and out DM.

If we had a DM that would drop between the two centre packs and allow them to cover the wide areas it might help.

But our DM spends more of the game in the opposition defensive third than he does in ours.

This is all on Ange. Even besides VDV slipping. Starting Bissouma who everyone knows cannot defend a counter for his life & is in horrid form as it ends up working predictably. Meanwhile we keep leaving an actual #6 on the bench because "well he's leaving anyway." Ridiculous man management. Bissouma has been pitiful since his against Luton in October.

I now agree with this post as I feel it’s the system that needs tweaking but I wouldn’t say our players are overrated.

Yeah it is, you can’t rely on a 2 cbs defending every attack. The weirdest part is you are meant to have a packed midfield yet teams walk through our midfield every single attack
