There's a strong chance that Newcastle will be bottom of the league in two games time. With Chelsea and City up next.

That means they would be 2 points after 8 games. Something we were told was in-escapable. Do they have any chance of staying up?

Or do they need a Harry moment?

He could just make them train in Bournemouth.

But seriously - it was stated as impossible when we did it. Do we think Newcastle would be able to achieve the same?

It was always over stated when we did. There were stories that no Prem club had ever survived the same position when we found ourselves in that position.

The problem with this theory was all the other teams who had been in the same position were genuinely rubbish.

Our squad was already more than strong enough to come above the dross around us, add to that our financial muscle to go spend big when in genuine trouble and we should always have been safe.

Newcastle though could be in trouble, they're very poor.

I don't really know what mcclaren is trying to achieve with his newcastle set up. Loads of players out of position or playing roles unsuited to them.

Wasn't McLaren made a director too when he was appointed? They'll back him for a while yet IMO.

Only assnal, Chelsea or spam going daaaaaarhn would make me happier. And it's pretty close between all of them tbh. I had to endure 3 years at uni with a barcode. A more obnoxious **** you couldn't hope to meet.

Wouldn't be surprised if we already have the bottom three after only these few games. All three have looked particularly awful and none appear to have any answers in their squad. Sunderland's back line, whilst i don't like knocking former players, has shown how off the pace Kaboom is now. I'll never forget how good he was for us at times, but he has to look at himself and realise he is nowhere near the player he was even just eighteen months ago.

Villa look like every time they get possession they do their utmost to give it up as easily as possible, they must have the worst pass completion rate (which i can't be arsed to look up, but jesus, they do love to give it away), and Newcastle are going about business like it's a charity match every week, just wandering about - it's such a shambles i can't figure out if it's McLarens fault or if it's the players. No-one seems to give a shit.

Reckon Bournemouth, regardless of their storming start to the season, are feeling pretty confident of staying up with the three teams currently in the basement playing such awful, awful football.

Worth noting Newcastle have played Arsenal, Man Utd, West Ham(who are the inform team atm), Southampton and Swansea. Not been the easiest of run ins. They should of got a point against Swansea and West ham and beaten Watford but they will get better

ATM just makes Mike Ashley look stupid since they didn't make any signings

You didn't mention Stoke who are actually in the bottom 3

I stand corrected. I'd still eye the three i mentioned to be the losers this term from the little i've watched so far.

I disagree with you mate its too early too tell, Aston Villa win a match they are level with Chelsea

Even West Ham, on the evidence so far they will be in the spots for europa but I'm not so sure

Oh, sure, mathematically i'm not arguing what is possible but from watching them play, these three seem a cut below the rest. They will need to do a great deal of work if they're going to carry on playing like they are and avoid relegation.

Worth noting that Aston Villa signed like 10 players so they are going to be slow and Newcastle have a new manager

As for Sunderland, they are always a mess and never play well BUT find a way to avoid relegation

Villa's worst start for 29 years apparently. Their manager likes a stat...

Villa and Sunderland look certs to go down to me, but if Newcastle stick with that clown McClaren they might be in trouble too. Certainly the Geordies arent known for their patience and Steve's dour approach and personality will put their backs up pretty quickly I'd think.

Certain managers are just bad fits for clubs, as @Doctor Dinkey says, the Geordies will only give someone time if results are poor if they play attacking football. I can see them turning on McClaren pretty soon and I still maintain Newcastle just have too many French or French-African players. If you just bring loads of one type of player into a foreign club, I always think it ends in tears. They already look like a clique-ridden shambles.

I can't see Harry going there as it's too far from home. I also think Schteve will get time. He's a good coach and I think, given time, he cam improve the side. I'm not sure they have the right players up top for him though - not unless they can get Mitrovic to calm down a bit.

Sunderland have United and the mighty Wet Spam next too, so it's not impossible they could be on 2 from 8 also.

I very much doubt they'll both escape. For what it's worth I think Sunderland are in more trouble than Newcastle.

Good point. Would be great if they both were!!
