Isn't that the point of test events though?

It is mate but knowing UEFA, they simply won’t risk an opening game happening in one of their comps, especially a CL q-f.

Imagine the barriers conk out, no one can get in & the game gets postponed. It is highly unlikely to happen but they will highlight a worst-case scenario, regardless of test events.

I don’t agree by the way but, playing devils advocate, I can’t see the European governing body taking any gambles.

I think for us the season ticket/membership cards are going to act as pre-pays. Only thing is once we reach the point where games reach general sale those people won't have them.

But they can either just use a normal contactless bank card, which surely 99% of people have anyway, and if it's a foreign visitor who doesn't have one, they can just buy the prepay card thing from the machine. Like I say, all the times I've had to do that in places you pay a fee but it gets added to the card as credit anyway, so effectively it's free.

It's really a non-issue unless someone is going going out of their way to make it one.

Just because the Haringey traffic thing mentions March 16 doesn’t mean that’s the day, that’s just the first day it may/could happen. I think

I fancy a Friday announcement for at least the 16th test event. Too much leaked stuff (largely thanks to Dougal) to not announce it now. It's like seeing a player turn up at the club before an announcement. Not that I remember what that's like.

I think you’re right. But they are reactivating the instructions now which would point to us getting in this season. And that’s a free weekend to get things moving.

Exactly. It states event days, so I think it will cover stuff for the future from that date. They're covering themselves.

I've looked at all this and it's a right pain in the arse for those living in the West of the Borough (like me). I hope they've sorted out the buses, but don't count on it, seeing as the bus routes within London are being decreased and desized (is that a word?!).

They are reactivating measures from August 10th 2018. First game at the new stadium was originally August 18th against Fulham. So this is in anticipation but not necessarily the exact date.

I agree if you mean Friday 15th announcement for a test event on the 16th- the club would see that as doing a great job of keeping us informed in advance!

As long as it’s not like Peter Odemwingie.

West Ham play on the 16th, but I think the 17th is clear.
And this would be the for the 60k test event as you do not need to close roads for a 20k event.
We might have the smaller event as soon as wednesday!

If we can send all the paper work to the FA on the 18th - that gives them, Wembley, the away fans, police, stewards even, plenty of formal notice of an early April opening PL fixture.
I am completely convinced, as I was last year more than once.

Yes you do - a "major event" at our stadium is defined as 10k+ capacity.

It's times like this I miss Harry. You know he'd wind his window down and say "yeah mate the yoof have a game up there next weekend so the roads will be chock a block". Although the idea of Poch saying that sentence rather amuses me.

It’s absolutely the same as any tourist/non-Londoner coming down here and buying an Oyster card - it costs £5 but the money gets put on the card, and then you just use that for all public transport.

If tourists can handle that then they can deal with it at Spurs.

I think cashless is a great idea, it’ll make everything so much quicker at half time.

The notice document makes you right, but you don't need to close the High Rd for 10k fans.
The 60k event has to be a weekend, really, so if you are right, the earliest it could now be scheduled would be 23/24th.
It is all getting a bit tight.
