Is this one of the last steel sections ?
I presume there are tolerance issues as the majority of the steel is in place and the roof is uncompressed?
(I am assuming the roof compression distorts the upper reaches of the stands?)
Behave we haven't come up with an original song in years! Sing about it most of us won't even speak to a stranger stood next us, leave alone sing with him.
I thought one season at Wembley would force it upon people to come up with some and yet nada, zipp, zilch, no dice, not a fucking thing.
It's why that stupid "you're shit" chant appeared (one too many visits to Leeds United)

But, I like a bit of blinding (not personally of course). BCNU!"So" going for the absolute blinding best deal doesn't always prove to be the best option, as we've seen from the chaotic fallout of Carillion this week.
Levy and the board have proved time and again that whatever decisions they make it is always in the best interests of and reflects favourably on the club, and I see no reason to suggest why this wouldn't extend to establishing the integrity of all our sponsors - current & future.
Assuming that the board wish to increase the global awareness of our club (I can't bring myself to use the term 'brand') as a means to increase revenue then the integrity of our sponsors is paramount - in fact it works both ways when you think about it.
But HSBC worldwide has been involved in some real murky business in North America, South America, South Africa, Europe and the Middle East, and Levy has to be mindful of the risk and impact of such an association. Their association with laundering drug money is particularly disgusting.
Having HSBC emblazoned across our shirts or writ large on the stadium itself? I just think we can do better than this.
Looks like they are doing more work on the joining bit to fit the last panel on SW side.
3rd time lucky hopefully
3rd for this one. The other one was for the one next to it4th time!
yesterday sloped as it will hold the fist few rows of the new park lane seating?
ie the fist few rows will slide under the stand along with the pitch?
There’s little point debating the ethics of any corporation that may sponsor us.
I mean I agree with you and others but I’m just resigned to it happening.Until if and when a corporate name is announced
And then unapologetically those of us who believe in people and planet before profit can use the deal as leverage to shine a light on any dodgy going ons

Maybe, but the weight of the earth is acting down - once all the sand is compacted and settled, and the grass well rooted, there is not going to be much side ways pressure - certainly nothing to justify all that additional steel support.Interesting theory, but I think the whole thing will be filled with earth, so it's probably to do with strengthening the long edge to ensure it doesn't bow out over time from the weight of the earth it is holding.
Edit: Remember it has to be deep enough to feel like solid ground and to hold things like the undersoil heating, which will still be necessary for when the pitch is 'out' during the winter.

There is more steel work than would be needed for seating too, but I thought I'd throw the idea out there anyway, as they look like mini rakers. Sort of. And the seats have to go somewhere.
If my seating theory is wrong, then maybe this side is reinforced as it will be the leading edge when the pitch is moved and it will need to take any impacts. Also further forward, when the rails are buckled and the motors full of infill and sand, it will be handy to have a strong edge to attach emergency cables so as to pull the pitch free, should it get stuck.

You'd be surprised how much sideways pressure is exerted, particularly when there is water in the earth. There's evidence available in any poorly constructed garden retaining wall, where even low walls can buckle and fall out as a result of the weight of the earth. This will be further exacerbated if there is even a small camber on the pitch for drainage (not sure if there will be or not with this design).
Either way, I don't know for sure, but the main thing I would say is to do with depth. If those diagonal parts were for tiering, the pitch would be very very low to the steel and would tear up easily. There is also a mechanical 'curtain' around the pitch which will raise and fall on hydraulics depending on whether the pitch is in or out. That also would preclude the tiering being associated in any way with the trays.
