Is this something that is deep rooted within our fans? When did it come about? I know we've had plenty of false dawns over the years but we've also had some wonderful achievements as well. We're no longer stuck in mid table and continue to finish in the top 6 even though we're not mega rich and the league is tougher than ever.

Are we ever going to believe in this club again? It just seems that every season I read nothing but negativity from our fans. We've finally got a great manager who is young and still improving. The best academy set up we've ever had. The best training facilities for them to work on and a new state of the stadium on the way. Our team (with the youngest average age) last season finished in our highest ever position. We have Champions League football for only the second time. Yet still there is more negative talk about the club.

I think the transfer window brings the absolute worst of it from the fans. It's like a bunch of petulant kids crying over what presents they wanted for Christmas and didn't get. It seems many of our fans have an agenda. If you post something positive about being happy with the work we've done in the window people disagree. Why? Because I'm being optimistic about the club I love? Fuck you. I believe in this club. Regardless of what squad we have come 11pm tonight I will be behind them. I couldn't give a shit about players who play at other clubs that we may have been linked with. The only players that matter are the ones that represent the club.

You get people complaining about selling players who they also moan about in the match threads. Mason is shit one minute and then hang on why have sold him? People are too obsessed with what we could have they overlook what we actually do have. This is the best position the club has been in since the Premier League era started. Sorry if it sounds like I'm writing with a judgemental tone because that's not really my intension. I just wish this place was a lot more positive considering what a great club this is.

to be honest there are certain posters that come on here to post negative, just to get a reaction. they come under 1 heading "TROLLS", to be honest majority of some posters threads hardly even get past the 1st page before they get closed.

you get some posters that just never post positive post at all, they would even find something to moan about if we won the quadruple.

it's either that or they think our players cost nothing to wear the shirt week in week out, that the stadium development is being made out of lego bricks, that have all been donated from around the country. or they just don't understand we cannot compete with the top 5 teams that are above us in the rich list that all have bigger stadiums than us at the moment (and with the NE corner gone they will nearly double our attendance this season), they all have bigger sponsors than us, they all have a bigger world wide merchandise sales than us, and all through being in the right place at the right time when the Premier League 1st started, to then being in the right place when UEFA decided to change the life of football "CL = teams that are not champions hmmmm". or they just got lucky with Oil money.

to all those posters that keep moaning about "NOT IMPROVING OUR 1ST XI", who would of improved it?

Financially, we have no right to even compete with those teams, yet we do, year after year.
If anyone really thought after last season that the Mancs and Chelsea weren't going to spend big this year then they're bloody naive.
Right now maybe 4th is the best we can hope for....and I'm absolutely cool with that.
Bollocks. Have you learnt nothing from last season? We can certainly hope we finish 4th, but the best we can hope for? Do one, I'm hoping for a clean sweep!

Why be cool with 4th?! If you can't aspire to win something then what's the point. The game is about glory not net spend profit margins.
Because I'm realistic, I'd be ecstatic to achieve that or any better, when you consider the resources many clubs have at their disposal...and with the playing field currently skewed as it is, I'm cool with it.

Many were even more pissed off last year but some of the younger players came in and did pretty well. Dier playing in midfield was laughed at early last year and many people were on a witch hunt because we didn't sign a true defensive midfielder. Maybe they see something in the kids that we aren't. Maybe they've sold some of the squad players because they don't really believe they are any better than those coming through and certainly less hungry. Maybe its just going to be a crazy deadline day, but I think we are still in a pretty good spot.

Yes, valid points but let these youngsters prove themselves at a high level before selling what we have. Wishful thinking I am afraid about today but I will happily eat my hat if I'm proven wrong.

Here's some positivity. We might get to see the likes of Edwards, JO, CCV, And Winksy really grow this year.

If Edwards is killing it in camp and surprising the squad then it is time to bring that creativity into the first team cause as of right now our attacking third has about as much skill cutting through a cake then they do cutting through a defense.

Honestly I have to think that Poch has real belief in his youngsters to have rid the team of veteran certainties. Those certainties must not be as opptomistic as they uncertain youth we have. I find that exciting as hell and for me that is a positive. It means our youth teams are working.

There's a lot of negativity, but there does also seem to be a lot of people that view any negative opinion as a "meltdown" or "whining". (that's not at all aimed at the OP by the way)

There are lot of things to be happy about Spurs but our transfer strategy is definitely not one of them.

I wouldn't have been too unhappy if we had kept our squad players except Fazio and Yedlin, with Wanyama and Janssen coming in. . I see absolutely no reason that we needed to sell Pritchard, Bentaleb, Mason or Chadli. We need a bigger squad not a smaller one. Ok, if we bring in replacements but it's looking increasingly likely that we end with zilch. Even the Nkoudou deal seems to be still in the balance. That by the way is a complete farce.
We are playing in the Champions League FFS. And all those around us have strengthened. It's great that we have talented youngsters like Onomah, Winks and Edwards but we should have seen how they integrate between now and January before offloading our squad players.
As usual Levy has screwed up with his ridiculous strategy of waiting until the day before the deadline and then making stupidly low bids which have zero chance of success. The only reason that we got the 2 players that we did is because we made those moves early. When will he ever learn ? Great that we balance the books. Most of us don't give a shit about net spend especially with all the extra revenues this season from different sources.
My own opinion is that it is very unlikely we finish in the top 4 and that ending up in the Europa League again after the CL group stages is highly likely.
Sorry if this is overly pessimistic but many of us are really pissed off.

Its like everytime we do well levy presses the self destruct button.

Would you start a premier league game with Onomah and Winks in the line up against the likes of Man City? No? Then we don't have enough cover.
