I didn't try and make out anything. I just think it's a crazy suggestion was all. Maybe I was little harsh in how I put it but hey I'm no professional when it comes to communication online. I think Dier,Dembele and Alliworked great together last season. I wouldn't like to see it broken up.

Fair enough.
Dier and dembele were undoubtably great but dier alli was equally great and i may be wrong here but didnt he score he's first goal from cm ?

My initial point anyway was that he is very good there and pretty much the only player we have that can compete/rotate with dembele withought us turning to jelly and he can be very effective in a attacking sense from there also

Time will tell but I think he'll become a striker. Dare I say there's a bit of Henry about him. Besides Gerrard is a different type of player to Alli. He would find it difficult to be involved in the attack if he drops deep. He certainly won't be getting on the end of the diagonal and through balls from deep.
I didn't watch enough of him at MK Don's to really have an informed opinion but I was always under the impression he was more of a box to box Gerrard player in the making than a striker or even an AM

I'm not sure his finishing is good enough to be a striker

I suppose we each see something different in his raw talent - I think he could become a Garrard type and get goals from midfield like Lampard did in his prime and he seems like he has the potential to be the player Jenas should have been (if that makes sense)

He's quite a unique talent and much may depend on on he is developed but as you see time will tell

The story I read is that Gotze said before Euros that he wanted to stay at Bayern to take the pressure off him during Euros,

He now is saying he wants to move, possibly because he's not excelled at Euros and Bayern are not keen to have him as a first team player as he's not played anything like as well for them in the last 2 years as he was at Dortmund, and with 1 year left on his contract his transfer fee is low.

Moving on from there, ManCity, Chelsea, ManU, Real, Barca are not clubs to but a player who was good 3 years ago at Dortmund but has had a couple of less good years at Bayern (he's not been bad just not looking the world beater that he was at Dortmund - that and a one year left on contract are the reason for the lowish transfer fee).

So our decision will be whether Poch thinks that he can get Gotze back to being a top performer,

Most players don't want to take pay cuts, so DL's issue is going to be on his wages, and the wage structure in place at Spurs which other players are on.

Or that's my thoughts !
That makes sense, I just checked that link again and it was 25th May so well out of date and as you say before the Euro's.

I think he's more of a trickster who plays best between the lines than a Gerrard. He played a lot on the left wing for MK Dons. So its a testament to how good he has been in a more central role that Eriksen shifted to the left. I also think his finishing is better than you give credit for especially for someone so young. If anything he can be a bit too composed and casual which is why he has missed a few sitters.

I do try to read all pages before i usually post, but all this, that player will want more if we sign a class player, is not a definite.

i know we won't re-sign Bale (i know a different type of player, as is Messi), but if Levy went out and got him tomorrow, do you really expect them to go knocking on Levy's door asking to be on the same wages?

there won't be anyone in our team that doesn't know the qualities of Götze. the difference with Batshuayi was he is really an unknown in comparison

I'm unconvinced by him. He broke through with a bang, but has never really nailed a position and been average for a few years now.

It's no coincidence Bayern have upgraded on him with Coman. I think Liverpool is about his level.

You weren't convinced by Toby either before we signed him.

People must forget he's still only 24. Plenty of time to regain confidence and get back to the form we know he's capable of.

I think you are overrating the Dier/Alli axis. In that position Dele made so many defensive mistakes, leaving us exposed, it lead directly to Dembele being moved there. In fact, those changes happened in game they were so glaring. Specifically Arsenal away and the other 2 escape my memory at the moment.

Dele was kind of a nightmare there and Poch recognized it and moved him up top, quickly...in game. If you focus on the positioning/tracking of runners you would see what Poch saw and that was a flashback to the mason/bentaleb axis so he changed it. Think sunderland home and dele's lapse that lead to their goal. Although that was out wide it is still emblematic of his lapses when he was in the CM2.

He does not have very good defensive instincts nor positioning as of yet to prosper in the CM2 at this time. He is a beast battling for the ball, going box-to-box and pressing but a liability in the CM2, at least last season. Ultimately he will probably be best as a #8 but we have better there for now.

I suppose that's possible (we did have ITK recently that Poch turned down Sanabria after meeting with him), but Götze is hardly an unknown quantity. Surely his reputation precedes him and he either would have been on Poch's list of players to target or not before we ever got involved.

I know it says we have had discussions with his dad, but would we of had them with Götze just yet, he was in a tournament up till Wednesday, good chance he might be on his jollies and being too busy putting his towel on the sunbed by the pool:whistle:
