Like Shaqiri, Babel and Dos Santos did after their initial hypes started to die down?

Come on now, Gotze has already reached a level that none of the three you mentioned have come close to. He's performed much more consistently at big clubs and country. He has had one poor year which in large part was marred by injuries. Unfortunately for him, one bad year at a club of Bayern's stature will see you out the door. But to compare him to the three you did is a bit unfair as he has certainly been a cut above them thus far in his career in performance.

He's got poor application and is too fat for a pressing system. I think the only way is down for him now.

Strange how he coped under Klopp then. His Dortmund team pressed much more than we do at the moment (their team should be something we aspire to).

My prediction: This will not happen quickly. Gotze is only an option as a bargain price that fell into our lap. Levy will not cave on this, and will test Gotze's resolve into accepting lower wages. Gotze said he wants out of Bayern, so Levy will find out how much he wants out of Bayerm. Poch will also need to meet directly with Gotze, which probably can't happen until Gotze comes back from holiday.

Poch will have to be certain of his willingness to work hard, and Levy will force him into lower wages if this is going to happen.

Still not buying this. We very well might (and should) be interested, I just don't see this ever really going all the way through. Maybe too many false dawns is what's keeping me from believing this is any different.

Is ghostofarmo (ftl) pretty reliable as far as ITK goes?

I
Gotze has the ability to become world class, however I can't help thinking that if he joins us it'll be because he's seen how the Modric's and Bale's of this world have used us as a stepping stone in order to move to one of the elite clubs.
That wouldn't be too bad, would it? First, it shows the player is motivated, and if he could help us in the way Modric and Bale did, then what's the problem? Even if he leaves, he would fetch a few quids for us. And though I'm being optimistic here, who's to say we wouldn't become an "elite" club ourselves in a few years?

Klopp's pressing system gets a lot of hype, but Poch's system presses more in a way as we'll press all the way back to the keeper and Klopp's does not.

That said I've never seen more pressing than Roger Schmidt's Leverkusen team. It is absolute kamikaze insanity at times.

Poch can always meet him anywhere during his holiday.... And would be decisive if we continue to pursue. I don't think he would wait for Gotze since he had targets line up and would like the new recruits be in Australia.

sure we are being used here to negotiate with dortmund
more likely being used as an excuse to send him anywhere other than Dortmund. Bayern doesn't want to sell to Dortmund and will look for the money from anywhere else they can get it.

Dortmund supporters really don't want him back. Not because he's a bad player, but because they see him as a turn-coat and take it very seriously. I think Dortmund would be making a mistake bringing him back. Fan approval is very important in the Bundesliga.
