I think Gotz burning his bridges at BVB and BM means we have a good chance to negotiate a decent deal. Some In Germany had suggested BM subsidized his one yr wage just to get rid of him to a new club. The suggested price is €20m to deal which would make Levy sniffing around. As for wages, i think Gotze is getting £115kpw while Kane is reportedly on a new deal at £100kpw. This roughly translate £780k per yr higher than the ceiling which Levy needs to find a way to go around it, either pay as sign on fee or as add on bonus for UCL etc or pay BM higher transfer fee and let BM pays him as add ons.

The cost of this deal if Levy negotiate hard with BM might even be cheaper to buy Wijlnadum which Newcastle is asking £25M. Assuming we include the €5m diff in his salary plus the transfer of €20m, which is on the low side totalling €25M. Levy will be crown football chairman god if he can make this happen.

Anyway not winding anyone up, just to point out that this deal is possible unless it turns out a bidding game which Levy won't play.

Dortmund supporters really don't want him back. Not because he's a bad player, but because they see him as a turn-coat and take it very seriously. I think Dortmund would be making a mistake bringing him back. Fan approval is very important in the Bundesliga.

Is it on a ****bell cale of hatred?

My prediction: This will not happen quickly. Gotze is only an option as a bargain price that fell into our lap. Levy will not cave on this, and will test Gotze's resolve into accepting lower wages. Gotze said he wants out of Bayern, so Levy will find out how much he wants out of Bayerm. Poch will also need to meet directly with Gotze, which probably can't happen until Gotze comes back from holiday.

Poch will have to be certain of his willingness to work hard, and Levy will force him into lower wages if this is going to happen.

You say a bargain price but how many times have we paid £20m+ on a player, add to that all the seeming complications of wages, form etc will Poch think it's worth the gamble & effort?

People must forget he's still only 24. Plenty of time to regain confidence and get back to the form we know he's capable of.

I don't think its a confidence problem. With Bayern, its always has been attitude problem.....

tbf even if we do go over and spend 30-40 (excessive he won't cost that much) it'll still bring our total spend on transfers this window to average compared to the majority of teams in England. As regards to wages, if he truly is on what Kane is currently on I don't see why we should deny him that - don't forget the wages we supposedly fed ADEBAYOR!

Three.

And Poch won't give a shit about the wages , that isn't his department. As for the rest, well if there's anything to that then we won't be/are not in for him.

All of the above is of course reliant on us actually being interested* :D

*Excepting 'three', that's a fact. According to Topspurs anyway.

Be interesting to see who we end up with instead.

Poch wanted Schneiderlin got Stambouli
Poch wanted Musacchio got Fazio
Poch wanted Martial got Clinton
Poch wanted Michy got Janssen
Poch wants Gotze but will get Robson-Kanu?

Would be an unreal signing, if there is a chance he wants to come here and is available for a sensible fee and sensible (ish) wages we would be absolute mugs to turn him down.

I also don't buy the fact that signing him an say £120k per week will upset the squad harmony. Sure if it was someone like Ade who (at the end of his time here) was just stealing a living as the highest paid player, that is one thing, but where its someone who has recently scored in and won a WC Final, played 160 odd games for Munich and BvB and, until the last year or so, was widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Europe, I don't see that as such a problem?

I reckon we could be linked too messi and you would have a huge thread on here with people saying he was over rated or wasn't big enough or some thing.

No.

Mostly because Dortmund fans are somewhat desensitized to losing players to Bayern, although it pisses them off tremendously and they got a fee for him.
