I don;t expect us to sign him, but Benteke is likely to be up for sale this summer, with Liverpool willing to make a loss.

Lukaku might want to leave, but Everton definitely won't want to sell. If anyone does go in for him, I expect it to turn out the same as with Stones last summer.

Better forwards out there for a lot less money, also if rumours are true that he wants to play in the CL that is a right slap in the face for Everton given they reignited his career, is that the sort of character Pochettino wants.

Not sure we should be starting new threads for every player one of us might want, especially with not one link in the media. Surely that's what the summer transfer wish list thread is for?

I think Bony as back up is a much more realistic option. Still think he could do a good job, it just hasn't quite worked for him at City

OK, what other games have we not played 4-2-3-1?

We haven't just stuck to a rigid 4-2-3-1 formation, in fact we don't even play 4-2-3-1, it's actually impossible to do that - we have players popping up all over the pitch in holes and other positions than their own and defensively players have filled in a covered for each others. For example Eriksen dropping deeper and forming a 3 in midfield, Kane dropping deeper and drifting out to the left, Dier becoming the 3rd CB, Chadli becoming a 2nd striker etc..

It's a reason why we've scored so many goals because we are so dam unpredictable and our players are making it hard for opposition to pick up, there's been many a time where we've done something different and lined up in unfamiliar positions this season. Even when you look at the average positions we don't play this formation, I don't know why people get so worked up over formations all the time lol

Bony is a penalty box striker, I don't think he would work here mate, he's looked out of place at City for that exact same reason.

I wanted him from Chelsea, but they'd have never entertained our bid. Now well out of our price range and never going to agree to be second fiddle.

if he stays in this country I can only see man city buying him, as he's a bony type signing completely pointless with the strikers they have.

Everton will only take stupid money for him, compared to Liverpool who don't mind taking a loss on players they don't like keano Carroll etc so will probably take 20m for benteke.

We could still stick with 4-2-3-1 but have Kane just behind Lukaku. Alli and Dier in centre, Eriksen left and Lamela right. Dembele is going to be 29 in July so we will need to rotate more. Just a suggestion.

Needs more rotation because he's 29? Someone's been playing too much Fifa, players don't suddenly deteriorate at 29. Especially when they are big strong central midfielders who aren't reliant on being lightning fast

If the rumours are true about us looking into Benteke... Surely Lukaku would be a much better option and an amazing back up for Kane. What do you guys think? He already said that he wants to play CL football next season so looks like he is ready to quit Everton. Also be carrying on with the Belgium contingency and would have a good understanding with Dembele.

Could also create a potential plan B with a 4-4-2 as well which we lack at the moment.

I think Lukaku would be worth £40 million. He has everything needed for the role of one up front. If we are serious about winning the EPL and competing in the Champions League we have to have a top quality second striker. Poch could really rotate them almost like he does for the full backs. Will they be gutted not playing every game? I don't think so since unless your name is Messi or Ronaldo you don't have that luxury at any top team. We have to start thinking of ourselves at that level. If players want to improve, get international recognition, win things then it looks to me as though Spurs are a very attractive proposition

We have to be very realistic, we only play with one up top. No way is Kane going to be dropped, only for resting. No way is Lukaku going to leave a premier league club to sit on the bench at another premier league club.

I'm sure Levy and Ponch are looking for someone extremely hard working who doesn't mind being part of a squad. Probably in the 7-15m pound range. Unless we put our faith in Clinton and we go back for a bid for Dembele
