If the rumours are true about us looking into Benteke... Surely Lukaku would be a much better option and an amazing back up for Kane. What do you guys think? He already said that he wants to play CL football next season so looks like he is ready to quit Everton. Also be carrying on with the Belgium contingency and would have a good understanding with Dembele.

Could also create a potential plan B with a 4-4-2 as well which we lack at the moment.

Not in a zillion years I don't think. Also Everyon surely will be looking for a fee in excess of 35m, inviting a bidding war along the way.

Don't know if it's possible but it would be the best of all possible options & exactly the kind of CF we should be looking at if we intend to maintain our competitiveness into next season

He would be brilliant for us but I can't see it happening. Everton have a new owner, or major shareholder at least, who I can't see wanting their marque player to go. He'd be looking for a fortune too. Not sure he'd see us as a big enough step up either tbh.

2 reasons this won't happen: 1 - We play with one striker and Kane is obviously first choice. And there is no way Lukaku would come in as backup. 2 - Lukaku is likely to cost upwards of £40m

Why? We have the best training facilities in Europe and soon to be the biggest stadium in London. CL football next year and playing a long side a very talented young squad where he would fit perfectly in - and also on top of that we have our Belgium trio as well.

But we always squad rotate regularly and we could even even try 4-4-2 or Kane just behind Lukaku

he would & should be challenging to be top dog. We need someone to challenge Kane not only cover him

We've already signed him, we are just waiting for the right time to activate his pre contract agreement.

Absolutley no chance why do people link us with players that are going to cost a bit
Have they been living on a remote island or something, surely when you know who our chairman is you know it wont be happening.

Yet we played 26m for a 28 year old a couple of seasons back who was completely unproven in the PL.

Would be my preferred striker of anybody currently playing elsewhere in the PL. Ticks loads of boxes. Big, powerful scorer. Gives us a 'Plan B' option which we lack. Belgian. Young. Might not be the best at pressing game but is fit and mobile for his size.

I don't think Poch will see a new striker as 'back up to Kane' or vice versa. We need to be able to field a top striker twice a week (PL, CL, cups) as well as have cover in the event of injury. There'll be plenty of 'starts' and time on the pitch to go round. We will more than likely rotate strikers much as we do our full backs now.

Sadly though, I very much doubt Lukaku will happen for the reasons mentioned.

We arn't spending north of 40 million on someone to come in and play back up to Kane lol. Even with the rotation Kane would be first choice for all big games so it wouldn't appeal to Lukaku either I would of thought.

The only way this would ever be possible if Harry wanted to leave and even then I'm not always convinced by him; Think Kane's overall game is way better to be honest.

but we don't play 4-4-2, and the way we play 4-4-2 does not fit, nor would Levy pay 50m for him to rotate

This will never happen, he cost everton 28m, to sell him to a Prem rival and with the TV money coming in everton will want around double what they paid for him, plus he will want to be first choice striker, something he will not get at Tottenham. End thread.
