Build a 60k plus capacity stadium and sells the club to a mega rich Arab. The latter will also ensure we are not called a Jewish club !

Actually, the very fact that we are known as a club is the reason we'll never have a Arab owner.

Calling someone a Jew in Arab world is as much of a slur as calling someone a paedophile or Gooner in England

I imagine Vertonghen and possibly Lloris will be off. There's definitely some dissidence in the changing room so even if Sherwood hangs on, there's going to be some big recent incomings going out.

Good article that.

I'd be a happy bunny with LVG, a decent set of coaches not the mates of mates we seem to have now, a beast of a CF and a LB that knows how to defend.

Could really see us going places with that happening.

If we pull in only a LB and a ST, I can assure you it will not be enough for us to compete for any honors next year.

Need that new stadium and a manager that the board and the FANS will give time to build something.

What else do you think we need ?

Well for a longer version I'll refer you to my post on the first page, but to summarize I think we have more problems in midfield than people give credit for. People see an obvious lack of talent or pace from certain positions such as left back or other spots along the back line, but they don't consider what's causing these problems to be so relentlessly exposed. For instance, not that very long ago we had one of the best defensive records in Europe. Did our back line players lose talent overnight? Our midfield is not okay. It is not aggressive enough, is too predictable, and features players that are far too similar.

I don't mean to single you out btw, I'm really targeting the grander idea held by many in the Spurs fanbase that is an illusion covering our gravest problem.

I'd like to have a summer of building on what we already have, not a compete destroy and rebuild, it gets us nowhere.
I'd like to get rid of Rose, Lennon and Adebayor.
I'd like the money we get for those 3 to be used for a premier league, not championship standard left back.
I'd like a pacey striker to offer an alternative to what Soldado and Kane have to offer
I'd like to see a midfield of Sandro, Holtby, Lamela, Eriksen, Chadli at least once.
I'd like a manager to come in with a clear plan/philosophy and to know what his best XI is.
I hope we fans give any manager that comes in the support I know we're capable of giving, regardless of our league position after 5 games
I hope we avoid another season where injury's and politics don't completely decimate the morale of the whole club and its fans.
Top 4 should be the target, if it isn't then we may as well admit were regressing and aim to avoid relegation.

I want a sensible, logical managerial appointment who the players and the fans can get behind.
And the stadium to be finally sorted.

That will never happen. Fans wanted Harry out when he was getting us into the CL. Some of our fans will never be happy.

tldr: Sherwood out. Sell obvious non/ex footballers + troublemakers. Replace. Then buy only a bit more passing ability + LB. LVG. Become football team.

Obviously like to go; Sherwood, Rose, Lennon, BAE.

Obviously like to come: LVG, The best left back under 25 we can afford, within reason for a LB, at a price with a view to a profit.

Less obviously, possibly, like to leave:

- Ade and Verts have been suggested as culprits for squad disharmony. Ade seems actually unbalanced to me. Verts maybe an ok guy who hasn't settled. Either way, I don't think we've got the financial ability to get where we want with with some disunited but fabulously talented squad. We have to get that performance bonus for collective-love. Sell anyone who makes things too awks. No idea who that actually is. It would be a shame to lose these two. LVG / The new Manager must be the one to decide after enough of preseason to make the call.

- Gylfi isn't good enough at beating a man to be a winger, or at knitting the play to be a playmaker. But he clearly is good enough to be a premier league forward-ish player in the right set up. I just don't think his style of high impact moments, late arriving in the box, on the break(down) play gives enough cutting edge in constricted spaces for us, when we're basically expecting to pin back most teams we play. Plus there's two years on his contract - we could break even now but not later.

Less obviously like to come, beyond replacing Ade / Verts / anyone else sacrificed at the altar of squad harmony:

I wouldn't mind us spending (even big) on a CM with better vision, and capacity to pass it forward, taking men out of the game, than our current lot. A proven one who's had at least a breakout season in a top league.

It just seems that if you ask the question about our midfielders - 'Who really likes a pass and sees them early, regularly? - the answer is: Holtby, Carroll, Capoue, and, kind of, Eriksen and Lamela, but they do what they like. So one kid with no record in the top flight, one DM, two players we probably want further forward than CM, and Holtby.

Some very hopeful wishes in here, as well as some very realistic and solid reasoning. @bobbof is the best of both, hoping for a sports psychologist (great idea) and Lukaku (just never gonna happen, but I'll be happy to procure you a beverage if it does).

For me, aside from all the obvious things that have already been said in here (new manager, new tactics, new back line additions), I want:

a) The new manager to absolve the high back line. It cannot be more obvious that it compounds so many of our problems.

b) A dynamic, true DLP/BTB player to be identified with such a role in the squad, be it from our selections already available (most likely Holtby and/or Carroll) with focused work or a new acquisition (Clasie or Kovacic). This, along with opening up the field by enacting a) will do wonders for attack improvement, defense improvement (unpredictability -> better possession -> better defense), and even team psychology as I think the players will genuinely enjoy playing with this squad much more. We have not replaced such a player since Modric left, and it is absolutely time we do so or we will see no improvement from the boring and ineffectual play we have seen this season (propped up by a world class superstar last season, so it wasn't as apparent).

c) Got to bring in a LW ready for immediate impact. Absolute must, and is a situation that is criminally underrated by many folks here. Eriksen is playing there because we have no comfortable left wingers for this league (Chadli needs to play throughout the center IMO, including striker), and it's a way to keep our best player on the pitch while Sherwood gets to keep his idea of the optimal center mid in the middle (boring, predictable, always lateral). This is another position we have failed to address even since Bale went inverted. Mind blowing to me that in all the spending over the summer, we failed to address both wide positions on our left side. For the price of Lamela, we could've bought a quality left winger and left back possibly even with money left over.

d) I want to at least see a concrete plan in place. It was very apparent that as of last spring that Liverpool had finally clicked (including after two crucial acquisitions) and would be a threat to the top four this year (in fact, I'm looking forward to collecting on some bets I made that Liverpool would finish above us and Man U below us). A good plan such as theirs would not be hard to see, and I want the comfort that must arise as a result of it.

So you want Sherwood next season??

Sherwood out should be the first point in the list. Out of the club.

I saw today he said we don't have a good squad, we lack a Luis Suarez. Unbelievable. What a hypocrite

I agree about the creative mid, but I don't see Kovacic or Clasie leading our team. They are too young and inexperienced. The only ones I can think of are Ander Herrera and Cabaye, and I don't think we stand a chance of paying what they would ask for any of them.

I think it would be wiser to use Eriksen in a midfield 3, like Barcelona use, with a b2b (Paulinho, Dembele) and a DM (Sandro, Capoue). Eriksen can be that creative midfielder.

I don't think we need much change. Bring Rodriguez as a LB and Konop... as a LF, and that's it. If we have the chance of signing Lukaku, we should take it, but I would make that position a priority. With a proper manager and that 2 additions, our squad should be good enough.
Something like this. Maybe change Paulinho for Dembele or Soldado for Adebayor

Where pray tell did I say I wanted to keep Sherwood? "For me, aside from all the obvious things that have already been said in here (new manager...)" I just didn't want to keep sounding out all the same repetitive things that have already been said, including that and a new left back.
