Shit. They're going to sign some more players. Now we're all fucked.
How are we fucked? As if all the spending up to now is helping them.

It's mad isn't it? I tuned in after 15 minutes today and it took me to half time to work out who half of their team were. For the best part of a billion quid you'd imagine they'd have started with Messi and Mbappe up front.WTF is going on at that club. They have spent nearly £1BN in the last year and you look at that team sheet and there is no one on there who really strikes fear into the opposition.
Back in the day they had Drogba, Lampard. Robben Terry (a Prize arse I know but an effective premier league footballer) etc etc.
They look a jigsaw puzzle where the pieces don’t fit together at the moment.Poch has definitely got his work cut out as failure to finish top 5 will probably lead to his arse getting fired out of a cannon you would think.

Yes, thanks, though I'm never sure if it's sarcasm or irony. Happy to go with sarcasm though.Sarcasm?
The funniest thing is about Todd and Chelsea is he is trying to run the club like the Dodgers in the MLB. In baseball the way to win is by tanking, get as many top 100 prospects as you can, trade away every asset to accumulate more prospects and eventually they all hit their stride together and you have a 2-3 year window to win it all.
This does not work in football, yeah sure, all the prospects are great but the hit rate is so freaking low that they are gonna be absollutely screwed in 6-7 years with these dudes still there on massive wages.
I guess their only saving grace is the fact that they are also owned by the Saudis so they will continue to bail them out with player purchases...
Honestly, neither am I. Happy to go with either.Yes, thanks, though I'm never sure if it's sarcasm or irony. Happy to go with sarcasm though.
Well yes, not the dodgers sorry that was a bad team to use, the orioles would be a better comp. But yes I still back the fact that he is trying to run that club like an mlb teamThat's not how he did it with the Dodgers, he was able to negotiate a TV deal with local broadcasters that was insane compared to what other teams were able to get in their regions. Then he spent massively on getting some of tll the best players, while baseball is a team sport, I think you can rely on the brilliance of individual players to win while football needs a coherent team to win.
Nobody cares about American rounders.Well yes, not the dodgers sorry that was a bad team to use, the orioles would be a better comp. But yes I still back the fact that he is trying to run that club like an mlb team
The only midfield 3's that can compare are those of City and especially Madrid. This is all on paper, of course. On 18/08/2023 at 12:34, El regreso said:
Poch now has a midfield three that can outrun, out work and outplay any midfield three in the world

The Dodgers are a better comp because they also have an insane payroll and have used that to remain competitive. But Rob’s point is right - baseball is essentially an individual sport which is added up to make a team result. Your team is literally the sum of it’s parts, in football you can be much more or less, and cohesion is a big part of thatWell yes, not the dodgers sorry that was a bad team to use, the orioles would be a better comp. I wonder what happens in the Chelsea dressing room during half time. Probably discussions about transfers and player stats from Tranfermarkt than stats from the game.
Holy shit - that's exactly what he's doing isn't it!? Never really clicked for me before. The funniest thing is about Todd and Chelsea is he is trying to run the club like the Dodgers in the MLB. the only thing i will say is, how bad were we when he first took over? he needs time to gel in the players and boot out anyone that doesn't buy in. With the unlimited tap they have i wouldn't be shocked if it gets situated this year/nextPoch nice bloke.and did like him as our manager untill we / he went off the boil
But cannot see him getting this mess to gel
Hopefully not proved wrong
Much happier with Ange
