I think royal would be fine as he had it a few days before. But yeah, we’d have to go midfield 3 really to try to combat missing skipp and hojberg. Hojberg I think we’d cope without but skipp is too important now. Have to go berg and Kane up top then yeah our back 3 would be Sanchez dier then god knows at lcb because Rodon is sure as hell not good enough on the ball.
Ah right. Royal has been active on IG the last few days too with a few people in the gym. So hopefully he is okay.

Hardly call them full strength. They have 1 fit cb in soyuncu. They have no attackers on the bench either really but their attack is mainly full strength. I guess it depends who we have out.

if we have no hojberg, skipp, Moura, son we are pretty screwed tbh.
Have these players been confirmed as ill? Have I missed something?

Do we know what our vaccination numbers are like? Presumably it would impact whether certain players would be eligible to play or not

This will be a very tough game if it goes ahead. Big win for Leicester today so their tails will be up.

From the first 6 with Covid, Emerson & Gil should be back in contention provided no symptoms are lingering and you would expect Emerson would start.

Big question then as to whether the 3/4 who were discovered as positive last Monday will have completed their 10 days in the hours before kickoff. They certainly won’t make it back in time to train with the team - and while that would usually be enough to guarantee they won’t start, for experienced pros like Son, Lucas & Davies, who know what Conte wants from them - and where there is currently a big gap to the next best in their respective positions - I wonder if Conte will trust them from the start.

Rumours that Skipp & Hojbjerg were among the later (Tues & Wed) cases; if that is true, we’re presumably looking at a midfield two of Winks & Ndombele (or possibly Lo Celso if he managed to avoid the plague).

Probably the biggest approach is do we or do we not play Leicester, agree not whether we can beat them.
Again, I am glad it is not my decision
I don't understand your post.

My post said that we shouldn't be averse to playing Leicester now, even with a depleted squad, because the consequences could be more serious if we postpone the match.

More serious than losing this game with a depleted squad ? (Which is what I can see happening)

I probably do not understand it myself!
I agree with you, we should just play the game on Thursday.

Yes, see my earlier post: either Conte risks exhausting his favoured first 11 to play three extra postponed matches, with the probable injuries that would result, or he needs to play some matches with a second string 11 to avoid that.

We may as well get it over with now, while we know that Leicester are also missing numerous first string players. I can't see a downside, in the context of the season.

I think you need to be more patient with someone whose first language isn’t English. They are agreeing with you cos they are saying the bigger question is do we or do we not play Leicester not whether (or not) we can beat them. I think that’s what is meant but sod it they agree with you anyway ?

Get it postponed train all week for Liverpool. We are out of ECL so we will have very few midweek games after Feb and will easily fit the fixtures in and have a much less congested fixture list than we would playing this midweek.

But they aren’t that depleted. They are only really depleted at CB and their subs bench. We have a lot more starting 11 out than them right now.

out of our 11 theoretically we don’t have
Romero,
Davies,
Emerson
Son,
Hojberg
Skipp
Moura

without them we look very very poor.

Lloris
Sanchez Rodon dier
Emerson Winks Ndombele regs
Lo celso Kane Berg/alli

we’ll also have zero bench to come on. It does not look remotely good for us. Leicester just smashed Newcastle 4-0 and looked very good.

Didn't watch the whole match as I was told to put the outdoor christmas lights up but for the first 20 mins or so I thought they looked decidedly dodgy at the back and a bit cumbersome with the ball.

I wouldn't read too much into Leciester's win, Newcastle are just Newcastle and utterly woeful.

A well organised side under Conte should be able to keep them quiet and punish their shite defence.

The only issue is our missing personnel, but Leicester are no opposition to be scared of.

Why are the under 23s training if it's so rife? Surely send them all home for ten days to protect the first team squad?!

I feel for Conte.

The guy had an impossible task with us anyway, let alone dealing with this.
