Apparently he has looking fantastic in training so I doubt that has anything to do with it. Tim didn't say anything about an injury before the match so it's a little strange to me.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Really??? Words seriously fail me...
If you took the whole sentence instead of cherry picking a line maybe they would not.

I said unless he is being wholly unprofessional, floating rules etc then i don't see the bearing on how he is training with any less conviction to say lennon.

The fact that he stayed behind after the west brom games and did some on his own shows me that he has some dedication to this game and quite possible his general training, he is no GDS.

Honestly not sure why performing training has to do with getting game time unless he is very very unprofessional and always flouting the rules that i am sure would have come out, he doesn't seem that sort of player but who knows.

I have to believe he is injured because if it is political the Sherwood is cutting his nose off to spite his face, today would have been a good game for him, but who knows what is going on

Why do you have to have such a belief? You don't see why performance in training has any influence on team selections? Seriously?

Could it be he hasn't trained well?

and neither have you to say that you wonder what he hasn't been doing in training to get picked, what's the difference?

I guess we will never know but he does not strike me as a trouble maker or lazy as you would have heard that come out by now

Bearing in mind everyone was saying he isn't injured!

Well I tried to be logical, he isn't being picked for some reason. For me the most logical reason is the manager doesn't fancy him because of what he sees. That is why I said I wonder what he is like in training, and I don't mean attitude, I mean performance wise.

Exactly... I could go train with the first team, put in more effort than everyone else and stay back after for extra training... Would it mean that Tim had a personal issue with me if I didn't get a first team chance?

You would have to perform very very poorly and have a stinking attitude surely?

Maybe you are right, but from what I understand about this kid is he a good pro.

One thing I will say is I bet some players are excellent trainers but it is not always an indicator of ability.

Guess we will see over the next few weeks.

Well if you are stating that training really hard is a pre cursor to getting in the managers plans them.....probably

Not said about training 'really hard'... Just queried your statement about what training has to do with getting game time... Still not sure how you cannot get that his performance in training can (and indeed should) have an impact on his game time...

My point was about training should only really be a factor if he at the end of the scale where it would matter, and if it was at those GDS levels of stupidity we would have heard something to that effect.

The point about his staying behind shows that he has some form of dedication and why would do that and then put no effort into training in front of the boss? It makes no sense.

Needs a run of games, simple.
Tim if you believe him has said he is a special talent.
If he was rubbish in training id doubt the manager would be calling him a special talent.
But on the other hand if you believe ITK he is fit, then maybe Tim dosent rate him.
If he is still here Feb 1st i would imagine he has a future here.
Any agent worth his salt would not let a talent like Lamela rot on the bench.
His agent would be leaking info to the press to get him out of Spurs.

I don't think he's 100%. TS doesn't seem to rush people back from injury. No Townsend or sandro on the bench either, even though they trained.

He has been injured - he's not match fit and he's low on confidence while still adjusting to a new club, new lifestyle and culture etc

He needs a run of games yes but he also needs them when he's able to do himself justice

Tim has said this directly on camera already - he wants Lamela to play when he is ready and not to be judged when he is not 100% because of the pressures on him as a result of his massive price tag etc (Tim is smart enough to know the nature of the British tabloid press and how eager they will be to write him off as a flop)

I have no doubt that when he's at his best and up to standard in training with his fitness and what not he will slowly be introduced as a sub until he gets the opportunity to play from the start again.

I think people are reading far too much into this situation because of the hysterical comments about Tim outcasting players in the Sherwood out thread from the likes of Green Lily who have a self admitted irrational hatred of Tim before even giving him a chance to show what he can do and simply want reasons to justify their negative opinion of him.

The whole rush him into the side, doesn't speak the language argument people give new players is BS. Let the kid play and he will settle. It's like the idiotic work experience part of applying to jobs. Let kid get the experience and we will see what we have.

If we didn't have other options, I'd agree with you. But we do... so I don't.

I think he can easily replace Lennon when we set the team up like yesterday, and he's declared fit. Can't wait to see that! Hopefully they all go off for some warm weather training this week, then Tim can get to know all of the players, work more on our playing style, and do some team bonding to improve the morale that's allegedly low with some players at the moment.

Maybe, maybe. I thought Lennon had a poor game yesterday. He got into some great positions, but his passing was particularly ropey yesterday. I just think Lennon gives that option to play the inside ball and really stretch. If you have say Chadli on one side and Lamela on the other you have two players doing kind of the same thing.

In a sense it's a shame for Lamela that Eriksen was so good yesterday as I really thought there was a role there for Lamela. Maybe Eriksen, Lennon and Lamela could rotate positions throughout the game, much like Chelsea;s three. That could really be special if it came off.

I really don't want to see a leftie playing on the right. It just makes it easier for the defence if the player cuts inside.
