No, I expect Bent to be gone after Crouch comes in. I'm talking hypothetically post-Crouch.

IF we're still looking at bringing Hunelaar in, I'd want Keane to make way for him over Pav.

Agreed, but not because I don't want Keane, but I don't ever see the sense in a club who plays 442 having more than 1 small striker (Rooney and Tevez may not be that tall, but they are both fridges), unless the other small striker is a kid who's happy to bide his time.

Tell you the truth, I think two big strikers, one of whom is blessed with the ability to bring others into the game and some flair to boot, is the way forward. Keeping everyone happy when there are 4 is almost impossible even with European Cup football, and keeping two little guys happy might happen for a season or two but eventually someone will always get pissed off and leave. Keafoe and Tevooney are both good examples.

It didn't work before and it won't work again, though under Harry I expect it to be Keane who loses out this time and Defoe gets his own back.

I agree, but I think I'd prefer letting Pav go before Keane if Keane were willing to compete with Defoe (big IF there!). I don't see enough in Pav to suggest he'd ever make it in the PL, whereas Keane may recover his form playing alongside a more suitable partner, however I'd prefer waiting till January to sell/exchange more strikers if Bent goes now. Because of their international careers, I think we'll end up losing both Keane and Pav since both need to start; Keane will most likely whinge if forced on the bench, and Pav has to compete against Pogrebnyak to remain first choice striker.

Right heres my take on this

Huntelaar i dont know how many times i have to say it do not want him he is not good enough for them prem

Crouch - Awesome was my number 1 target all summer i would love him :D hes prem proven and we cannot go wrong

Im sick of these fancy dan big name signings because they just take so long to settle giving us a bad start then we sack our manager then we have hell of run get to a final of a cup and qualify for europe with new manager and it all starts again

and some of us need to calm it down in here

I agree. Hunt not for us. We spent time and money getting defoe back we spent money on Modric and Lennon is back on track. Huntelaar is so lacking relatively in bulid up and hold up play he'd devalue all those gems. Crouch despite being technically unorthodox bring players into play far better... not as well as many other players we could get but alot better than KJH

I'd love to get excited by that, but TBH, it means nothing. Just a few people reading some papers and placing some bets.

We need to stop dilly dallying around over wages etc ... forget delph we dont need him, forget cruch we dont need him, put that cash into getting huntelaar and paying for some of his wages too, we need to improve pur team and show we have ambition else the one true star we have already i dont see being at spurs for too long and that guy is the one and only MODDERS!!!!! he wont stay if we carry on being a crappy mid table team and buying the likes of championshi[p players and bollocks like crouch!! also he dont care about the rich table spurs are in, who cares if we will never amout to anything and start winning and showing we are a force again

Too right!
I dont know if it has to do with the fact that Huntelaar plays for Madrid but I just dont get the myth that KJH would serve us better than Crouch.

The facts are this:
1. Redknapp is the manager who believe it or not has a better understanding of football and the current squad than anyone on this forum.
2. He likes Crouch and thinks he can do a job that will improve the team.
3. Buying Crouch is not a symbolic white flag signifying our intentions of breaking into the top 4 or 5 clubs in the country - He is a proven international goalscorer.
4. Noone knows what KJH would be like in the EPL. He would also be expensive.

Plus the last striker to come from Madrid to the EPL was Owen. Worked out well for the Geordies...

Crouchie over Huntelaar all day long for me.

Most of his 16 goals have been scored against teams like Jamaica, Estonia, Austria, Andorra, etc....

The only decent/good teams he has scored against is Ukraine and Croatia.

Make of that what you will.....

your point was fine until the Owen comment. Owen failing last season was not because he went to Madrid!!!!!!!!! It was because he was injured/playing with a bunch of clowns!!

I don't get the Crouch or KJH debate, am i alone in thinking HR wants both and has played a canny game with our competition for each to offload them the players he doesn't want, Bent to Sunderland and Pav to Stuttgart ?

huntelaar has 13 in 21 for holland (crouch 16 in 34) and is our all time leading u21 goal scorer with 18 in 22.

if crouch is a proven international goalscorer, than what is huntelaar?

I haven't gone through all this thread, but i'd like to say 2 things. Firstly, i'm ok with Crouch. Proven Prem player etc etc etc. Secondly, anyone who thinks KJH isn't good enough for us is a bit weird. Fair enough if you wonder whether he's exactly what we need, but to say he's not good enough for us, a team not even in Europe, is just absurd.

Will it take a move to Arsenal and for him to bang in 20 goals there to make people realise that they're living in cloud cuckoo land?

voetbal international are the biggest footballpaper in holland and are known for their european golden shoe award.

they have their own football program on one of our commercial tv stations and their owner is a sports celebrity in holland.

however, on the link your providing they are going through what foreign papers are saying on transfernews day by day.

they are quoting news of the world, so it's not their own news.

Thanx for that, knew them stats already but did not bothering posting them on here as according to some they mean jack shit. Scoring in the Dutch league, Spanish league and being Hollands all time record goals scorer dont count.....

He has also scored 9 goals in the Champs League which as you are aware is probably the Worlds premier footy competition. That's not too shabby is it?

According to this:

http://www.vi.nl/Achtergronden/Tran...rdagboek-26-juli-Huntelaar-Kalou-en-Terry.htm

Huntelaar is coming to spurs for 21million euro's and Harry is in Amsterdam to sign the contracts.

It's the "biggest" football website in the Netherlands, says my friend who is Dutch and lives there.

Ta for the heads-up. :)

Only thing I'd say is that if you put the page into Google Translate, then it does say in the opening paragraph that:

"Note: these are rumors. The more reliable news you read in other posts."

So I wouldn't read too much into it by itself.
