Nice to see the press back. Juve weren't ready for that level of work rate.

Skipp, Parrott, KWP and Tanganga with a promising showing.

Skipp and Parrott could be the solutions to our striker and DM depth. Both look pretty mature for their years.

KWP looking very spritely, really hope he gets his chance. Made a good tackle on Ronaldo.

Can anyone comment on the style of play? I'm not watching and I'd like to know if we're playing more of a full press like we used to?
Also are we building up slowly or is it more direct from the back or are we just moving the ball faster in the turnover?

Still the same build up from the goalie, but think Skipp and Winks play through the lines quicker, and certainly Son,Dele and Lamela + parrott pressing hard.

Honestly think Spurs fans should forget last seasons 'style' as after Xmas nearly everyone was fucked and our pressing really dropped off. Think it was only due to energy levels, different this season.

I never trust anything in pre-season after we destroyed Roma 5-0 then had the worst start in the club's history.

Yeah but what about when El Hamdaoui did that spinny back-heel thing for a disallowed goal during the Peace Cup and then kicked on to be the greatest player we have ever had?

I refuse to believe anything in pre-season after we destroyed Roma 5-0 then had the worst start in the club's history.

I still talk about this to everyone bragging about their pre-season campaign. Just get fitness and tactics up to speed, limited injuries and don't get destroy every game and that's all that matters.

All that is true but building confidence is important too.

Two years ago when City beat us 3-0 it set a tone that they were going to be strong, it wasn't just the score but the performance. Alternatively, I was told by someone I work with - who coaches at one of our preseason opponents in 2017 - that they did not like playing us as we were really strong physically and tactically, that sort of stuff you can can carry into the season with confidence.

Our issue in the past was not having the substance, we could put on a flashy performance but we lacked back bone and a strong mentality. We have that now, thanks to Poch.

You know it's desperate times when we're calling for VAR in friendlies
