Amazing how they're finding this money isn't it?
They sold their future last week.
Amazing how they're finding this money isn't it?
They’re selling a decent wedge of their tv revenue for about 10 years, banking on a super league, if there’s not they’re screwedAmazing how they're finding this money isn't it?
Didn't they sell a percentage of their future tv income for €200m and gave it to Xavi to upgrade the squad?Amazing how they're finding this money isn't it?
yes :Didn't they sell a percentage of their future tv income for €200m and gave it to Xavi to upgrade the squad?
They still need to pay their existing players and have wage bill restrictions. Buying Torres in Jan for £55m and then buying Rafhinha for £60m a few months later, whilst giving Dembele a new long term contract does not make sense. Nor does signing PEA and then signing Lewandowski. Nuts club. They sold their future last week.
Once upon a time, Bear Stearns was a massive financial firm. Then they threw caution to the wind and shit happed.Barca always find a way because they're a massive club. Their biggest challenge is the wage cap in Spain but they get around it every season. They'll always find a way to pay for top players because they always get financial deals. Lewandowski has now been confirmed and I wouldn't be surprised if they sign Kounde next.
Both clubs still produce beautiful players from their academy as well.Shame about Barca because up until a few years ago I thought they were well run and despite the fact their wage bill was probably huge, I never thought they were that mad on transfers and high fees.
Now they just buy whoever for whatever amount and don’t seem bothered. Probably changed when they got Dembele. United are another example and it’s funny because since both club’s change in transfer policy, their success has massively depleted
But it was the academy players for both clubs that made them. The Golden Generation for Man U and Messi, Xavi, Iniesta et al for Barca. Those players literally saved them hundreds of millions in transfer fees. Both clubs still produce beautiful players from their academy as well.
Finance and Marketing priorities are the drivers, Barca also have the added factor of presidential elections.
valenciayid on sevilla struggling to afford reguilon:
Remember when someone said swap deals are really difficult….
Could Kounde really not play CCB at all? He would then be in the mix to play CCB or RCB in rotation with Dier and Romero. Bear in mind that Romero played CCB primarily for Atalanta (IIRC).Seems sensible to discuss this in here, not sure there's any other Sevilla player we'd particularly be interested in, I must say I'd be surprised if we decide this is the way to go in terms of what defender we want but I'd be very happy to add him to the ranks as I rate him highly but that feels more like me as a fan wanting to load the squad with as many quality players as possible as I struggle to see how he'd fit in without he or Romero being played out of position.
Think that’s right. Romero also played LCB for Genoa.Could Kounde really not play CCB at all? He would then be in the mix to play CCB or RCB in rotation with Dier and Romero. Bear in mind that Romero played CCB primarily for Atalanta (IIRC).
Is that really the case? If so then how would they struggle to afford Reggie once the deal goes through? Probably wishful thinking but maybe there’s more too it?Kounde is off to Barca or chelsea, this is a non starter
Ties in with the latest ITKI presume they're weeks behind with their info, but ESPN here in Argentina have just said we're in for him and offering Reguilón or Lo Celso as part of the deal, in the build up to the Sevilla game.
Not saying we are even in for Kounde but the fact that it's "he's off to this place or that" means he's not off to either yet.Kounde is off to Barca or chelsea, this is a non starter
