Ali gold said no truth in reports about us wanting him, with Barcelona, City and chelsea all rumoured it makes sense

I think he's a terrific player and I'd love us to sign him but I just don't see how he'd fit with the set up we're attempting to go for tbh.

Apologies if asked and answered but can he play CCB? That's the only way he would be someone of interest I think.

CCB isn't allowed to dribble or go forward too much in Conte's system, he would be wasted here. Great player for whoever else gets him.

No he's really only possibly for the right centre back role and Romero has that on lock.

Yeah the only possibility is if you decided that Romero would do well on the left in a similar way that Koulibaly and Rudiger do where the invert benefits them. I do remember moments where Romero came over to left side and was absolutely superb.

However I believe that Romero is such an important player that I would not dare compromise on having him at his absolute best to accomodate anybody. Only if Conte thought that it would benefit our system or Romero would I entertain that idea. Kounde on the right and Romero still being a beast would be tasty but I'd rather find options that maximize everyone involved.

My understanding though is that we are going to sign a prospect in CB like the Ukranian player whose name escapes me atm and we are confident we will land who we want next summer for LCB.

IIRC, Herc said that this is purely agent talk.
I doubt we've been particularly interested since we signed Romero as they play in the same position on the right.

I presume they're weeks behind with their info, but ESPN here in Argentina have just said we're in for him and offering Reguilón or Lo Celso as part of the deal, in the build up to the Sevilla game.

I’m certain a player who is as good on the ball and as well co-ordinated as Kounde is could play LCB tbh

They are just going off the rumours from a few days ago. He wouldn’t make any sense as a signing unless we plan on playing either him or Romero out of position.

I guess they are quoting TyC Sports. And TyC quoted Daily Mirror but can't find where they reported it
