Not saying typical going for cheap option, but I do think price is a big factor. Even if they think perriera is better and better option, fact we could get a backup for 3m instead of 15-20m is in my opinion a massive reason why we'd switch targets.

If we've only got 45m + whatever get for Wimmer, minus off Barkley which could be 30m it doesn't leave much left. We'd need a RB, Wimmer replacement, maybe that's all but if there was an aim of another attacking mid or CM then perriera would leave nothing in pot, whereas this guy would. Massive balancing act right now in terms of finance.

I would kinda like to know what we are doing with the money from player sales if it going towards the stadium. This window we have sold Njie Fazio Bentaleb and Walker for £80+ million and we cannot replace Walker for £23 million without pleading poverty and going for the £3 million option?

Can honestly say i have never seen this lad play, or know anything about him. But at the prices being talked about it seems a no brainer to me. German u21 international (so must be half decent) for peanuts.

Didn't we have another German U21 called Holtby?

Never seen the boy play, but if he's someone Poch wants then I hope we do the deal, although I'm not sure how this would affect KWP?

Reading into Levy's comments today I can't see us signing such inexperienced cover. I think Pochettino is happy to give KWP a chance.

This...if we do sign a right back it'll be someone for here and now I think. Giving KWP the full pre season to prove himself (in addition to training)

This is forgetting the £30m from Carroll, Fazio, Njie and Bentaleb

Ignored those deliberately because I believe those future fees expected were why we spent 30m more than earned last year.

Levy says stadium won't effect transfer spending because effectively it hasn't, we spend what we earn from transfers. If the pot is empty (with a bit a leeway) then we won't sign anyone. Those sales prior to Walker essentially brought us back to zero.

Without Walkers sale our budget in my opinion would be zero right now, you could even suggest Poch was given two options, sell a player and have some cash for squad improvement or have peanuts to spend.

I still think either Toljan or Pereira's ability to comfortably play LWB, allows Davies to cover LCB, and equally means Walker-Peters's path is not so blocked, he still gets opportunities.

I'm a massive fan of KWP mate, but isn't he even more inexperienced? And I don't think Pochetinno has a choice: if Levy doesn't buy a replacement, he's going to have to be "happy to give KWP a chance".

To me it is not worth even the 3m. Pereia now is a different matter, but 14m more.

What about the £142 million in TV/Prize Money from this season mate? Where's that going?

A number of questions for the club - do we have confidence in Trippier? If not, or we're worried Tripps might get another bang on the head, then who would be happy to replace him with? Take another Harry Kane type gamble with Dier or KWP or buy a replacement. If we buy a replacement then are we looking for someone better than Tripps or an up and commer? A balance, both financially and tactically.

Personally I myself would prefer the immediate upgrade, but then I don't have any inside ITK on the club's view of Trippiers worth.

KWP is less experienced, but he's also been training under Poch for years, has an affinity to the club and costs a lot less. I don't think the relative experience trade off is big enough here.

Hmm.

Surprised he wasn't given more bench time last season in that case.
