By the way, some people here take shit too seriously. I didnt mean being literally depressed.
Those people taking things "too seriously" didn't start a thread titled "It's so depressing being a Spurs fan...", you're the only person taking things seriously enough to do that.

I get that you're disappointed about the result rather than actually depressed, but there's a reason we have words. Had you said "isn't it a shame we lost a football match" I imagine you wouldn't have started a thread about it. So you created a more sensational headline to validate the thread, and that lead to the reaction you see now. It's the Internet mate... trolls are gonna get hated on. (y)

...then you need to go have a thunderwank...
Is it just me who has the Thundercats theme stuck in their head as another innocent pillar of childhood fades away?!

Not being funny but every team below us bought players, and some spent a fortune, but not one of those players I’ve thought, wow we missed out on him.

Lesser clubs have to spend to stay in the PL, we need a bigger stadium to stay near the top. We lost last night because of our injuries, if we had bought players in the summer in the areas we needed, it wouldn’t of meant we still wouldn’t be suffering an injury crisis, and no guarantee those signings would of settled or improved us.

We lost last night because once again we didn't deal with Hazard. The PL's best player is allowed to pick the ball up on the halfway line, carry it to the edge of our box, pass it and then get it back and score without a single white shirt getting anywhere near him.

Love Poch, and his team. Been supporting Spurs for a long time, and realize how good its been, the last few seasons.

But....call it a shite trophy, not worth winning, did well considering the injuries. Fact is, we lost to fckn Chelsea (that's bad enough) and in another semi final.
As a Tottenham supporter, think we're all allowed to be a little depressed today.

Squad is shot to pieces with injuries and players trying to return from injuries. Also we have a few who clearly are NOT of the needed standard.
Hindsight says poch shoulda gone back 3.
Sad times imo, we will really struggle badly to keep chelsea, united and arse behind us.

Without weighing in to the debate in this thread on either side, I'd just like to second the motion that anyone who tells a fellow Spurs fan to support another team is a prong.

When you've got people calling for Poch to be sacked because he's just a bottler and fraud then those people really should take a long hard look at themselves to be honest.

At this point I'd sacrifice top 4 spot for a FA cup. Sick of always being the fucking losers. It amazes me how after every failure there are people who find something positive about it.

Lighty I don't want to keep arguing as we are all spurs fans and all of us probably feel a bit if only this morning, but I don't think it is all down to injuries because the players missing all played the 1st leg.
Over both legs they were the better team and are as i have said before serial winners who know how to get over the line which is something that as yet we are not nor can do, I'm gutted but they are better than us still as we tend to lose these high pressure big games but still now it's on to Sundays game which will be tough and palace could spring a surprise :)

I think the OP has been misunderstood whilst at the same time, he could perhaps of worded it better.

Basically (I think), he's cheesed off about last nights result and felt he could best articulate that by way of a thread for us to express our mutual cheesed offness whereas everyone else said it in the match thread :D

And now it's turned into a cock joust :(
Don't they all?

Let’s be honest, there is nothing positive about losing a semi final to those wankers yet again. However we have no option but to go again on Sunday. COYS

Some people take pride in being gallant/courageous losers

I don't...and I certainly hope the manager and these current bunch of players don't either

Scholar if not for this man we would not have had the bad years of the 90s.
For those that don't know when he brought the club from the Richardsons we were one of the top four clubs ;his purchase of spurs has had some suggestions of shady dealings when buying up shares such as when a male shareholder died he would coheres the wife to sell him the shares true or not its a good story and fits my narrative.
We were the first English club to be floated on the stock exchange and I cannot be sure of the figures but£22million I think was the amount a huge amount at the time making us almost the richest club.
He squandered this on harebrained ideas such as our own sports firm but you could only purchase items thru spurs. madness.
At the end of his reign he left us £9million in debt plus he sold the training ground plus we were no longer owners of our own stadium mortgaged up to the hilt we had to sell Hoddle ;Waddle;Hodge;Gough:Roberts;Allen there were more players sold but you get the idea .
Sugar got us our stadium back into our ownership plus a new training ground plus he built two new stands at the end we were a stable club ripe to be taken over Sugars only fault he was not really a football man/brain.
So before you have a go at Levy and Enic you should think on because it does not take too much mismanagement to send us into bankruptcy .Lewis is a hard nosed business man and he will not be like Abramovich or the oil rich arabs at City;Juve:psg.
SO the best we can hope for to improve the squad is that the new stadium once up and running will give us the funds to compete with the uber rich and seeing that we are the 10th richest club in the football world our management are making a good fist of running the club.

Pretty sure many Spurs fans are so institutionalized to a lack of trophies, they just gloss over it and go "well we are 3rd in the league".

Really? So what? I mean it's good and all, but can't we just win some fucking trophies? The owner isn't spending the money so we have no hope of ever winning a PL or CL. So surely the other two cups are our best bet? or are Spurs fans just happy with finishing 3rd and 4th and never winning anything?

I thought last night was an absolute fucking disaster of a result. Yet again we lost to Chelsea in a big cup game. Unfortunately Poch is not showing himself to be a manager with a win at all costs mentality. Not so far anyway. Yes, we display remarkable consistency in performances and results under him generally, and do pull off some great cup results, but only at a certain stage. As soon as we get to a semi final, or a big knock out we generally lose.

We wouldn't have won the Final against City without Kane and Alli anyway. It wouldn't feel right not having Kane in the final with us but that is a separate thought and emotion.

There isn't a single doubt in my mind, that after 4/5 seasons with us, Poch should have won a trophy. He's continuously been schooled by other managers, in charge of teams with similar levels of talent. Conte first season in this league, won the league and knocked us out the FA Cup. Mourinho, cup semi last season. Sarri, first season here, won fuck all before, in charge of a team without a striker below us in the table, lose again.

It's really not good enough and I pity any Spurs fan who thinks it is. Time is fast running out for this team to win something. Eriksen and Alderwerield will be off in the summer. I feel like I say the same thing every season and it's the same old story. Poch doesn't seem to be able to take us over the line. I find it remarkable that with the talented team we have, we've been one of the top 3 sides in the country under Poch, we still haven't won a single trophy in 4 years. It's not great is it. On one hand, you commend Poch for making us a top 3 side, on the other hand you question, how the fuck can we be a top 3 side yet still not win a trophy? It's so frustrating.

I don't think it would be ideal going into the new stadium not being in the champions league.

People with clinical depression have an illness. However, rather than using, fed up, feeling low, feeling miserable feeling dejected etc which are momentary feelings, I have noticed there are those who use the word depressed as it seems, through common usage, to cover all those milder momentary feelings we all have from time to time.

Last night I felt quite miserable despite deep down knowing that without Harry, Sonny and Dele last night's result was a possibility. This morning I am coping better, but the disappointment lingers on. That doesn't mean I am devastated or desperately unhappy. It simply proves I am human and respond in a human way. I will always wish these bad results never occurred and always remember them with a tinge of sadness, However, my love for the team remains as strong as ever. The hope and expectations for the rest of the season and the future remain strong with continued confidence that all is well and heading in the right direction.

Just an old man's view on the discussion on the word 'depressed'.

Got to experience the bad times in order to appreciate the good times.

Oh, and before the numerous 'what good times' posts appear, I'm pretty happy with how we've been doing over the last few seasons.

Yes of course a cup and a bit more strengthening would have been most welcome, but can we not just appreciate at times how well we are actually doing.

If it's depressing supporting Spurs, maybe a change of Sport is required.

I hear that those that go to watch Chess tournaments are a riotous bunch. In fact, my mate Dave is such a legend, he even wears socks with sandals and a Burgundy tank top when attending. Mental.

Check-Mate.

Fine. Just don't tell them to support another club. We all have our own views but we're all Spurs fans who ultimately want the same thing: for Spurs to be successful.
