Don't be a muppet matey!

I don't recall saying Ramos out?

So you all think the squad is good enough for a Champions League spot next season?...

Seriously how can no-one get frustrated seeing every single free kick wasted tonight?..Lennon - bags of pace but won't use, Chimbondas lack of effort?

Let me be blunt...

First of all, you're framing your POV in a poor fashion. I know what you're trying to say, instead it sounds like you're slagging Ramos.

Second, think carefully about everything you've heard from Ramos and Poyet since their arrival, including comments on the January window. No panic buying in January, will only buy if the quality is there. Jonny Woodgate, step on up, 7 mill fee repaid ALREADY. Ditto Alan Hutton, who reminds us what a full-back's first priorities are.

Third, it is exceedingly clear to most people that this squad is going to have a sharp injection of new talent this summer once Juande and Gus can work on their targets in peace and with the close-season in full-swing. Do you not think they don't know the areas of the team which are weak? I'd wager that nobody knows better than them.

Fourth, Juande has shown that he has the intelligence and class to get us into the top 4. He has also shown that he can prime these players to do the job necessary when it's VITAL (which is why before the doomsdayers knock us out of the Uefa, let's wait and see if the man doesn't steal a 2-1 or 3-2 win out there...I'd put my hat on it personally)...
...are this squad good enough? IMHO, not for top 4. WHich is why we will see a new goalie or two, proper midfielders to play alongside JJ and Lennon (Steed as a squad player) and another quality striker or two (I still don't think Berba's off)...

It's been as tough a week for Spurs as the CC week was brilliant, but in these last two games, for me the CONCENTRATION and psychology is what's cost us...I do not, for one moment, believe Juande is unaware of it...

So don't panic mate. It will be fine.

Don't know why your getting so much grief, I've seen much worse threads started by high posting regulars.

Your absolutely right that we played better in the Uefa cup last year.

As for the honeymoon period, that's been extended after winning a trophy, but don't worry the sharks will be circling next season if our league form went tits up like this years has.

Because some of those mocking you are the type of supporters who would turn on a manager pretty darn quickly.

have to say I agree with what you have said, didn't think the thread was that bad that it warrented negative reps as some of the stuff is true if we were all being honest and he is entitled to his opinion, also don't see anything suggesting Ramos out at all

I fully support Ramos and believe he can turn us into a side capable of challenging the top4, we still need improving in areas like creativity, set pieces, GK etc and what has always been a problem for us consistency, the last two games have been pretty bad and has quickly killed off the high we were all on after winning the cup.

have to say was looking for us to move up a step, with the pressure off now we are in europe and the confidence gained by beating a top4 side.

It has not turned out that way and am very dissappointed in our players since the final as they have failed this bigtime, but that is what it is like being a Spurs fan, plenty ups and downs

and yes we were far better in the UEFA Cup last season which is a surprise to me, we had some fantastic performances/results like winning in Germany/Turkey/Portugal, but this season somehow we have gone backwards as was showed in the 1-1 draw at home the last round and now this loss at home

the talk of better last season is in regard to the UEFA Cup and it is 100% true

have you forgot we beat Besiktas in Turkey, Leverkusen also away and to top it off won in Portugal ?

that is a fact and if I remember correct didn't Berbatov get an applause from the Besiktas supporters aswell when he went off, was an awesome game from him and the team, fantastic goal

we were also robbed in Sevilla when we had control of the game, it was no wonder we had bookings for dissent

think its fair to say that last seasons UEFA Cup run was far better than this season, we couldn't even beat Slavia at home

I don't blame Ramos for this btw, the players were at fault for the performance, just like last night

yeah so what, we took the game that easily that it nearly backfired on us

would have been far better to play em off the park the first half and then subbed off key players with the result in the bag, not play that way from the start

the post saved us from extra time

No it wouldn't, we got through to the next round and won the cup at Wembley on the Sunday. Therefore we got the 2 outcomes that we wanted.

Well in the first half we dominated the game. Destroyed praque and should have scored more.

in fact i cant remember a team we have played better against all season than the first half against praque.

So what does this mean............oh yes i know..........your talking out of your hoop.

you are entitled to your opinion, but I don't agree even though as you said we got what we wanted in the end, but it could have ended differently

as I said, we took it far to easy and NEARLY had the worst possible result, extra time, we were lucky the shot hit the post and that is a fact.

think its you who is talking crap, we were in cruise control the whole game and not taking any chances. Even the commentators banging on about us just protecting the lead

when the score was 1-1 we were under pressure and thank god that shot never went in, extra time was that close

I agree bit of a nonsensical thread.... however, how many posts he has made should be of no relevance. It reminds me of idiots in my military days "get some time in lad, can't have an opinion or a mind of your own until you get some time in" FUCK OFF is what i say!!

we shouldn't put new posters off b telling them they shouldn't give their opinions until they've 'done some time' how is the forum supposed to grow if we dont let people post what they think, no matter how long they've been here!?! Eek

Call me old fashioned then. I contribute to lots of internet forums on a whole variety of subjects. I always lurk for ages to get a good sense of the arguments and counter-arguments on the site, because if you jump straight in, you usually make a fool of yourself.

I would have had no problem with the thread starter voicing his opinion (that the "honeymoon is over") in the main match thread - which already existed. In fact, I might even have been bothered to debate him or her in the match thread. Starting a brand new thread is a different order of things.

Debate is great. All our ideas should be challenged, because in the very process of articulating our arguments they become clearer and better. I've had some highly enjoyable arguments on SC with the likes of Bus-Conductor and Sloth, during which they've made some very good points, many of which I accept.

So, free speech yes. But I stand by my view that it was stupid to start a thread suggesting the "honeymoon was over" 10 minutes after full time, and I think anybody who'd been on this site for any meaningful period of time would not have started such a thread. Unless it was intended as parody or ironic humour about the supposed fickleness of Spurs fans...

was about playing better in last seasons UEFA Cup run, just agreeing with that is all

with our away victories in last seasons UEFA Cup its easy to see why, we did play very well in Turkey/ Germany/Portugal

the last game actually was only been talked about because you brought it up when defending the scoreline, was not my intention to talk about it only to mention the score as we have failed to win our last couple home UEFA Cup games

have to give reasons why I agree, being constructive of course

you seem to forget that we got a bye last year. Who knows whay would have happened against feyenoord if we actually played them. so we had an enormous slice of luck.

who cares, can we not wait until we have a least finished this campaign to see where we are? Our matches last year were a fucking gift by the way. And remember we had a change of manager slap bang in the middle of the campaign, so all things considered we havent dont that badly. How about you get behind the team?

If we hadnt have got a 'by' last year we may have gone out to dutch opposition in the last 16.

fucking moan moan moan.

Last night's result wasn't a total disaster and I don't accept your point about not having played well under Ramos (everybody has given examples so won't go there) but the question in the thread title - is the honeymoon over ?

Yes it is. It was a bit ridiculous really. People seemed to think we were title contenders overnight.

Hate to say I told you so but twice if not thrice I quoted Harvey Keitel's Mr Wolf from Pulp Fiction in the last couple of months:

'Lets not start sucking each other's d*cks quite yet...'

Well people did and this is what you get

This thread has left me wondering... are you the Judean People's Front?
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought that in this thread!

And I don't see what the panic and complaining is about, we are still in the competition, there are 90mins left.

No, Ramos still deserve every love until the end of next season at least. The job he done recently isn't easy as you think. Can you remember our football and results before he took over ? Let alone the Psychological side of our players. It was excellent job to win CC final, let a lone the win come after good subs.

we did everything right until that night. 2 defeats won't change anything, the defeat against Birmingham because no Woody, King, Lennon and some of players were resting likes Jenas, Keane.. and one of our best talented players is injuried for a long time - Bale .

Then our defeat against PSV could be normal, it is happening sometime in football. They are one of the best teams in Europe, personal mistake was a reason and don't forget it isn't Ramos his full season to get the best of his players. ( Hutton was cup tied )

Ramos needs at least two full seasons to say so how honeymoon over.

we played very well against Man Utd TWICE, Arsenal TWICE, Chelsea FINAL, Beating Man City AWAY UNDER SVEN, is that all not good enough ?
