But you just moved the goalposts.

You started by saying he wouldn't make a top 6 side......well, we are 5th.

Then you ask who above us would he get into?.....that's top 4 currently, with nothing settled yet.

You can't have it both ways.

And are you telling me he couldn't compete with 1 or 2 of Arsenal or Liverpools CBs?
If we want to get into the top4 now, and push further, we need better than Dawson. That's all I'm saying. If he starts every game next season, we won't get there

Erm the point was replying to the thread itself that Dawson was having a go at the other players, however he almost cost us two goals in the first 15mins so I don't think him having a go would work. So an almost goal is a thing that wasn't a goal but it was almost a goal ie the Hazard chances.... sorry if that confuses youo_O

I wasn't picking on Dawson rather stating he didn't have a good game either so him having a go at anyone would seem hypocritical IMO.

I think if you read what I wrote I said no one had a bad game, so unless "no one" doesn't include them players I think you should perhaps not make a pretty stupid comment:couchpotato:

Thanks. It wasn't a stupid comment.

I'm pointing out how you are singling out Dawson when there were others far more culpable in their performance.

And although you claim Dawson didn't have a good game, as captain on the pitch, he is well within his rights to have a go at other players for their contribution.

Sorry fella, all respect to your opinions, but you've changed your stance again.

You are now talking about breaking top 4, when the original argument was about Daws not making a top 6 side.

I don't disagree that we need to improve some players to ensure a genuine title challenge (which is what it would become if able to break the top 4) but the rest of the team, not one individual, are currently not good enough to ensure this happens, and until they improve, then Daws is no better or no worse than them.

Now all we need to do is to get them to give a tuppenywotsit before the Chelsea game.

If I had said daws not good enough for top 4 side. You would have come back at me saying we aren't a top 4 side. Most important position is center back, and a center back pairing. Put. Top player next to vert for a run of games, and it will be the biggest improvement we can make

I would have been more concerned if this didn't happen. They're top professionals and shouldn't accept low standards.

If Dawson isn't allowed to have a pop at people not treating games seriously enough because he isn't as talented as them, then it really is a wonder that the likes of Terry, Puyol even Materazzi have had the careers they did

To be fair, they're all better than Dawson. Or at least they were.

What the hell is an "almost goal"?

How on earth do you pick Dawson out for that?

Why are you not writing.....Verts, Sandro, Walker were responsible for ACTUAL goals.

Total inconsistency.

LOL, BC used to say Dawson was "nearly responsible for us not keeping a clean sheet" the season we kept a fair of those.

So by that same logic, he must have also been responsible for us keeping them??

It's generally agreed by Jose Mournho that City have a better squad. The whole thing of Man City having the better squad was dreamt up by Jose to put pressure on them. The truth is that Pochettino would love to have Hazard, Oscar, Willian, Matic, Cech, Ivanovic in his team.

The whole 'Man City are peerless' thing is just a mind game from Mourinho. It lessens the pressure on his players, turns it up on the City players, and results in whatever happening at the end of the season Jose comes out smelling like roses. There is very little difference between the two sides.

Hazard and Oscar would be brilliant in Southampton :D

He's the captain, he represents the club and the manager on the pitch and elsewhere - it's his job to have a go at the other players when they're slacking.

Your desperation to blame him for mistakes which led to nothing and then claim he's got no right to bawl out the other players who did make mistakes which led to goals just shows how biased you are against him before you even start debating.

It's also irrelevant as to whether someone had a good game or not when the whole team was poor and gave up - and it's also irrelevant because the whole point of this is that Dawson was having a go at people for giving up, for not caring about the result or the football club or the fans, not based on what bloody score he gave them out of ten.

It's like you want him to fail almost as much as you want Soldado to fail. I can't wait to hear your always-negatives thoughts about the next player you take a dislike to - you've already chosen to pick on two of the most passionate and hardest-working players in the team, I wonder what treatment you'll give someone like Lamela.

Sandro reveals how Tottenham held angry crisis meeting
Last Updated: 12/03/14 11:21pm

Sandro has backed Tim Sherwood's scathing assessment of Tottenham and revealed how the squad held an angry meeting after the heavy Chelsea defeat.

Tottenham's hopes of a Premier League top-four finish were severely dented by Saturday's 4-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge and head coach Sherwood lambasted his side, accusing them of lacking character.

The players were also branded too 'nice' by their angry boss, but Sandro has shed light on how his team-mates vented their frustrations in a lengthy dressing room inquest.

"We spent more than two hours in a meeting amongst the players and we said what we had to say," he said.

"From now on, we know that we all have to listen when anyone says something. It was after the manager's conference with the press.

"We had a meeting with the players. Sometimes one player got a bit more stressed out and we tried to calm him down and talk in a nice way. We spent about two hours that way. Every player had their fair share to say, put it that way. We all spoke amongst ourselves.

"For me, to be honest, it helped a lot because now I can go and tell another player, and another player can tell me. The manager likes it. Everyone can go for it now, and I think it will help.

"I think that is positive from ourselves and we have to show in the next match that we can do much better. And we will prove that. I am sure we will show much more character in the next matches."

Former Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle raised concerns about Sherwood's outburst, but Sandro insists he repeated his media comments to the players.

"He said the same thing to us as what he said to the press," the 24-year-old said.

"I know the manager is with us and we are with the manager. We need to show a bit more in the next match to tell the manager that we care. We will do that.

"Sometimes when you lose games in that way everyone gets cross and we all scream and shout.

"Maybe some managers shout more than others. (Former manager Andre) Villas-Boas, for example, liked to pull you aside and have a nice chat to you to explain things.

"But other managers are more vocal. As professional football players, we have to work with all managers and do our best for them and for us."

Sandro hopes a fired-up Spurs side will produce a response in Thursday's Europa League last-16 first-leg clash with Benfica.

"After a match like this (against Chelsea) we were all upset with what happened on the pitch and I think we have to put in some more effort than we

did," he said.

"The manager said we need to show more character. Maybe it is that. We have this big game against Benfica, where we can show that we are better than that."

I'm getting to the stage were I'm sick of hearing all this, just hope our players do their talking on the pitch for the rest of season and a positive performance (and result) in our next few games will be a good start.
