I think the enormity of the decision is sinking in with Harry and his family.

Not saying this wasn't discussed at length previously - of course it was - but all said and done, he may not have ever believed it would actually come to pass and coupled with an impending birth, this really is a sliding doors moment.
Anyone who has kids will know pregnant women often say one thing and mean the complete opposite when push comes to shove. This now is a case of waiting to see what he decides. The bullshit flying around right now is off the charts so there is no point in updating anything until it's certain.

His wife is pregnant and due soon I believe. That's a lot of upheaval to move, get house sorted, kids sorted, hospital and doctors sorted for the birth also.

I don't think it's too late for footballing reasons, but all personal ones that he would have to think over.
He would've known his wife's due date a fair way back though, long before he made that initial briefing anyway. If he's having second thoughts now it's all cold feet and to be honest I'd actually be a bit pissed at him. We no doubt have been operating under the pretence that he could go and would've had to have planned accordingly for it. There's no way it hasn't had some impact on both our recruitment and on Ange's preparations, so for him to turn around and say no now would be annoying to say the least.

I suspect Rob's reading of the situation is correct.

Levy was happy with Bayern's offer at the weekend and wanted to buy some time.

In that time H has decided he's quite content to see out his final year with us under Ange and keep his options open. Now it's whether Bayern (and probably Levy too) can convince him to go through the deal after all. The situation with Kate not being able to travel and how much he probably enjoyed the Shaktar friendly probably contributed to the position.

I hope he decides what suits him best, deep down. Shouldn't have to go to Bayern because he thinks it's the right thing to do for all parties.
He could choose to leave thinking at least the club could still get some money from his sale. But will Levy be putting that money to good use is another matter again.

IMO, is really how Levy sees it. He's not wrong with either decision. BUT at this time frame, it's too late to entertain the selling decision already.

The bottom line is that the final whistle hasn't been blown. And we apparently have a substitute coming off the bench (or two) Katie Goodland who just might be the game changer we needed. We're into Injury time and the tension is building!

Meanwhile, Liverpool bidding almost £100m for Caicedo without selling any of their best players, whilst we hang about waiting to spread ourselves thin and spend pennies on some young replacements for our best player this Century.

The difference between us and even the tightest of our top 6 rivals is clear.
Meanwhile Liverpool didnt bid 100m for Caicedo, they don’t have any defensive midfielders right now and Liverpool fans are again doing #FSGOut campaign on Twitter as they don’t want to offer 5m more for Lavia

I don't think that's the issue, it's having a young family, with another on the way and having no support network/family around you to help!

When one parent can afford not to work, and if you needed you can afford to build yourself a full blown nursery and pay for the staff, and buy all the staff a ferrari each for being nice, the support thing becomes less of an issue...

Scenes tomorrow at the team meeting before training.

Lads are all seated, Kane quietly enters the room, and nods to Ange: "Gaffer, I'm staying."

Ange looks up: "I knew you would, mate. Now take a seat, and lets get this season started!"

I imagine both Bayern and Spurs are trying their hardest to convince him to leave now.

Who would have thought we'd ever be doing that?

Exactly. Makes me sick to think Levy is probably actively trying to push our club legend striker out of the door, just so the club doesn't 'lose out' on some money! Money that in the grand scheme of things isn't going to make our break the club in any way.

Me at 12:31: Couldn't give a shit anymore, I'll do some work

Me at 12:32: I'll have a quick check on the Kane thread, see if anything has changed.
My day has been totally derailed tbh. Having said that I still think he stays. None of this makes sense, why would they keep negotiating if Kane is no longer willing to move? We’re always told that clubs sound out a player first, find out if he’s interested. Contract terms presumably agreed in this instance as it’s gone on so long. Now we’re being told it’s up to the player and he’s ‘leaning towards staying’. So why make a higher offer if he’s not going to accept the move? As for ‘media spin’ to save face - Kane turning them down is not a good look, they took ages to make an acceptable offer - I can’t work out how this reflects well on them at all.

Speaking as someone who has emigrated, 3 years younger than Harry when I did it... it's not an easy thing to do... it's literally leaving everything behind, including parents, grandparents of the kids, etc. That's an emotional crippler with aging grand parents and the thought of robbing them of those years with young grandchildren. We tend to forget all this stuff, because it's football, or the money is so huge, etc... but I would imagine they've had this conversation a thousand times this summer and probably had a different outcome half the time. That's what it was like for me.
