But not this situation, which has a pretty unique set of variables. It’s not madness at all it already happens.

How are you defining "work" here? That’s just madness. And it would never work.
I think for smaller transfers we would happily walk away and have done.If you set a deadline you are prepared to walk away from the money. The plus side, you get to prepare for the season properly with a world class player and you have less teams Fucking you about in future.
We will never be prepared to walk away from the money. We will always compromise the football side before the money side, and you end up in situations like this 2 weeks before the start of the season.
Of course this is about the money. You think anybody would bugger about when there’s possibly £100m up for grabs now or zero in 12 months? If you set a deadline you are prepared to walk away from the money. and evilI bet you he'll spend money (not as much as we'd like, but some) once he knows how much he has to spend.
It's infuriating, we miss player opportunities who get snapped up elsewhere, we lose our preseason prep, and we often end up with third or fourth choices if we get anyone at all...all while undermining a succession of managers...but the reason it doesn't improve is exactly because he's not trolling...he thinks he's doing the right thing.
That's why it's time for him to go. Not because he's evil, but because he's wrong.
I don’t disagree with the broad strokes of your post. But the idea that this would be wrapped up quickly is for the birds. As you yourself have now highlighted, there are lots of things that could be negotiated - all of which take time. How are you defining "work" here?
I think all three parties want this deal to happen. I think Bayern really want Kane, I think Kane wants Bayern, and I think Levy, reluctantly, wants to sell.
Everyone has something to lose in this deal if it never happens. So, if you put pressure on Bayern - perhaps they find a few more pounds, or maybe Kane agrees to a lower contract to facilitate the deal, or maybe Levy agrees to put more money in the add-ons instead of the guarantees.
But, Spurs have a vested interest in concluding this deal - one way or the other. This deal impacts the transfer budget, and we need to be getting our deals done - before selling teams tell us its too late to make deals.
Must all come down to how badly you want to succeed and how prepared you are to loosing some money.I think for smaller transfers we would happily walk away and have done.
I'm not sure we can afford to do that for Kane, much as I sympathise with your general view of the way our club is run, that I feel I would probably solidly agree with!
Could we have afforded to walk away from the Bale or Berbatov deals at the time?
Don't know what rating to put against this. All eyes on baldy to see what he does next.Bye bye
Bye bye byeSo I assume Spurs and Bayern are Nsync?
I’ll be glad when it’s sorted and we can move on, hate these drawn out saga’s.Bye bye
Bye bye
