I think that it's fair to say that if nothing comes of the transfer talk this summer then he'll be content to stay, knowing that he'll have a pick of top clubs next summer. We're either going to lose him this summer or next summer but I think that we can forget him signing an extension.
But, if he enjoys this coming season, whats to say he doesnt sign a new deal?
He hasnt been held captive to remain at Tottenham all of these years. Yes there was the summer 21 blip but he might actually be swayed if we have a good season playing in a team playing enjoyable football.
At this point its all ifs and buts as everyone is offering facts based on opinions and lets face it 99% will not even resemble the truth

In fairness. Kane might not have actually said he wants to leave and thats why he is still captain.
Maybe he has said he is merely open to seeing what offers come in and will then make an informed decision.
I can relate to that, I did similar myself recently (admittedly not on Kanes scale) and my boss still treats me no differently. Ultimately I stayed because i never actually wanted to leave but the money being talked about made it somehting I atleast needed to consider.
This is what I think is the actual situation on HK's side, despite the media circus

There is a possibility this happens and I guess this is what Levy is/was hoping for. However the people who are in favour of doing this should be humble enough to take the following on the chin in the event the gamble doesn’t pay off:

1) Whatever our budget is now we would have eighty or ninety million more to spend on new players if we sold Kane. That’s just the way Levy/ENIC operate. Whatever we spend we would have a lot more to spend if we sold Kane.

2) Kane is free to walk at the end of the season to whoever he wishes. It’s no use crying about seeing him in the Premier League every week ripping it up for Man U or worse.

In other words people can’t have it both ways. Accept the risk but you might not like the outcome next summer.

The same goes the other way of course.

You can’t have it both ways. You can’t be the star in the team and be excused of not putting in a ”star” performance in the big important games. In any walk of life when the big moments arrive and the pressure is the highest people look to their star performers to lead by example and inspire them all to succeed. That’s how and when you achieve greatest.

Unfortunately for Tottenham when we really needed Derek Jeter we got Alex Rodriguez! A bit unfair maybe but we could have done with Kane having Jeter like performances in the really big games.
I agree with this.

not all his fault by any means but it’s not as though in these finals he has been outstanding and the rest of the team have underperformed, his performances in finals/semis has mirrored the teams…limp.

been an incredible player and servant for us but until he shows up and dominates a final then there will rightly be a question mark against him in my opinion.

I think as fans - it's an easy decision - we'd love to spend our careers at the club. Just playing enjoyable football won't be enough - he's going to want to compete for top trophies - and rightly so.

Bloody hell! The guy hasn’t said or done anything but be a professional, add to that he is still a Spurs player and the knives are already out!
Pathetic isn’t it. Our only true world class talent, has scored against every prem team and scored 20+ goal almost every season and yet he apparently doesn’t turn up in big games.
Laughable.

To he honest, I'm coming round to that way of thinking, the "if you want to go, just fuck off already", purely because of the constant water torture of articles everyday.

I'd still be happy to keep him for next season though, try and persuade him to stay and if not, well it's not my money and we are far from being a skint club.
Literally exactly how I feel about the situation.

But all those players you mentioned turned it on at different times in finals to get there team over the line. Kane never has. I also quite clearly said this is not all on Kane but it does reflect badly on him. I love Kane and hope more than anything he stays with us forever but if he does leave not winning something with us despite the chances he had will always haunt him IMO.
All the players mentioned played for better teams, with better players, and therefore had far more chances to turn it on in a final. As a random example, I can’t remember a single time Rooney was the big difference in a final, but I can remember him shitting the bed many times. He just played for a better team. If we had a Kane standard player in other positions he’d have a sackful of trophies by now

Personally I think there is a begrudging acceptance masked by people planning for what they see as an inevitable exit.
Does anyone, actually want Kane to leave? I doubt it.
We, myself included accept he is likely to leave, and have kind of gotten used to this and managed to persuade myself looking objectively at it that Kane doesnt exactly fit Anges system. (Not that Kane couldnt adjust and avoid the areas Madison plays in, more that he wouldnt naturally do that)
Wouldn’t be leaving if this business had invested in the football team instead of corruption.

Well it’s not laughable Is it? How many times I. Huge games to the very best players in the world turn up? Look at the final in the World Cup Messi and mbappe were completely unplayable.
How many times have we watched other world class talents turn up when it truly matters? Kane hasn’t done that.
I love Kane and think he’s the best spurs striker I’ve ever seen but the very best make stuff happen in finals and semi finals. When can you say he’s done that!
