The only one I can think of that's similar is Ronaldo, albeit he left Utd before he peaked, then went to Juve and then came back to Utd, which somewhat contradicts your point as he came back to the PL to play for his old club.I'm sure there are other examples. That's the first that came to mind. The point was that selling Kane to Bayern is not a lifetime guarantee that he's not in the starting XI at ManCity against us in 2 years.
There's De Bruyne of course, but he was sold by Chelsea because he wasn't deemed good enough and it was early in his career.
I honestly can't think of a single top player that went abroad towards the latter part of their career and then came back a couple of / few years later and signed for a rival PL team.
