He will be here til January when he tells DL that he’s open to a new deal. They negotiate a deal where “all things are agreed” and at the last minute Kane asks for changes to the deal. The window closes, he doesn’t sign a new deal, and leaves on a free. Kane can rightfully say that he fulfilled his contractual obligation to Spurs and tried to extend his stay but DL and the board decided not to negotiate his new terms. It’s a PR win for Kane and a loss for DL.
