I’m not sure we hold the power anymore when Kane will have 1 year left on his contract and could possibly go on a free the following summer, that scenario would be a catastrophe.
Our best ever academy player leaving on a free.

Again.

If he doesn’t re-sign, I can see Levy accepting big dough from Man U this summer, particularly as whoever buys them will want to make a statement.

I can just about live with this, since I have no doubt Boehley would offer him the world next summer just to fck us over- after hearing this would guarantee him eternal adulation at the Bridge. I have no doubt Kane would take their money.

Hasn’t he still got 2 years remaining at the end of this season?

He’ll be gone this summer and I don’t actually blame him. There is a very very slim chances he signs on in my opinion and the accountant in levy will want some money for him this summer. I’m sure we’ll manager to get £75-£90m from Utd and suggest we already have Richarlison as a replacement - then sign some unknown or youngster for £35m as the back up option. And this is the exact reason I want levy and the board out over any manager right now.
Rinse and repeat.

fwiw - I actually think we should sell son, Kane and Lloris and properly rebuild - however my trust in the correct rebuild with the owners is less than 0!!!

Won a lamborghini in a lucky draw 9 years ago, its creaky now and due to scrap in a year’s time.

Problem is my girlfriend loves the car and now the rich bloke who’s been after her for ages is now offering me enuff money for the lambo to buy a new ferrari to take the lambo off my hands in an attempt to win my girlfriend over.

i’m keen to take that money , get that new ferrari and let the girlfriend go if she’s that materialistic.

problem is that am worried i’ll be paying for a fiat rather than the ferrari………

It's really not that big deal. More and more players run down their contract and you get your money worth during their time here. It doesn't get bigger than Messi on a free.

Surely this summer he is going to Man.U or Bayern, unless levy blocks selling him again which at this point would be idiotic given we’d lose out on about £100mil for him.

Yea but they look very good, have a team who could really suit him and will likely invest more in summer to keep improving.
So like I said they can't guarantee trophies if they need to keep buying players to keep improving.
He ain't going to be looking for a project.

Not sure what Levy and Spurs are thinking but surely Weghorst is a stopgap that Man United are hoping Kane will replace in the summer.

He won’t sign that deal. I know he hasn’t turned it on in finals but it’s actually shameful how little quality is around him and how shambolic the squad “development” has been over the years. The failure to plan etc. Harry is a stellar player and as much as I’d be so sad to see him leave (with the realisation that we would be pretty fkd even if we get a good fee!!) the telling thing is no one would actually blame him. Even the most ardent supporter. Shambolic.

I think you will ultimately be right. As much as we have not wanted to face this reality.

Sonny, Lloris and Kane are not problems per se but when you are bringing in coaches like Jose and Conte because you want them to get the best out of your best players and win trophies you are probably sacrificing many other aspects like team chemistry, a system that works for the club/other players, space for young players to grow.

For example, Kane and Son will not be left out of the team, so they kind of dictate the system and vice versa. You can't leave Kane out, he's too important.

Whereas if a coach like Ten Hag comes in, he doesn't place too much importance on one player, it's the system.

We are not Real Madrid. We can't hire a coach like Ancelotti and let the big players just get on with it and silently manage the rest. We need a coach who controls every decision on the field/footballing side.

I am not for one second saying Kane is an issue for Conte, he clearly isn't, but if you bring in someone like De Zerbi I think it's better in everyone's interests to start afresh.

But then there is one major issue....
