I have to be honest, I take that as something positive is happening we are not aware of. Whether it's investment or Conte being backed I'm not sure but something must be positive.

IMO, the article means nothing. Circumstances dependent, and we know that ain’t changing on or off the pitch.
It’s not really news.
the only way it reads, is as a message to the Boars to sort stuff out , either via Kane/Conte or someone else.

At a stage now where I read some positive murmurings like this and I can't help thinking this is levy leaking it for some positive stories given the absolute shit show in every other main part of the club.
I'm not saying I'm right and I am almost certain I am wrong in this instance but that's what this club does to you

I would like to think that we have contingency plans and targets identified.......

We are never going to be able to find a player who scores the goals he does but we are going to need a couple of strikers who can share the load supported by Kulu, Richarlison and Gil. The team is going to have to evolve as strikers like Kane are pretty rare.

Sad when you think we are half a season away from potentially losing the best striker we have had.

I would love him to sign up for longer but the article actually says:

But conversations are planned for once the winter market shuts and, if the circumstances are right, he is open to signing a new deal.

So it isn’t exactly certain he will.

I wouldn’t rule out Charlie Kane leaking this kind of thing to keep the heat off of Harry. The last thing he wants is constant speculation between now and the summer so better to say he’s open to a new deal and just see what plays out between now and the end of the season with the club.

I don’t think anyone is saying it’s a sure thing. Just better that the door is slightly open rather than bolted shut.

if this is true, he really is one of "our own"

only a spurs fan would make such a daft decision

I haven't changed my view at all on this, I very much feel his future is tied in with Conte's, and Conte's on the fact the club back him. Big week coming up.
