I wonder if they would do that and let him know what the fan base really feel. "Are you Campbell in disguise?"

Lets be honest we know they wont, but he should feel the disappointment and wrath of disgust his actions have created within the people that loved him like a hero... nothing can changed whats happened really but hopefully he can fully understand what his actions have done to the ever faithful that worshipped him for all right reasons, if that makes sense

He was almost certainly selfish in declaring himself fit but the real culprit is Poch who should have said fair enough but you’ll start on the bench. It’s Poch’s pandering to Kane that has led to his sense of self entitlement. The lack of game time back up strikers got because we allowed Kane to chase his personal goal scoring records is scandalous.

I think it’s Levy pandering to Kane not Poch.

Levy has listened re ousting of Poch and hiring of Jose. Levy can take some of the flack.

The fact this looks like it's going to go through without him submitting a transfer request really irks me. Loyalty bonus after what he's done to try and push this through is a joke.
Campbell also got a large loyalty bonus from us when his contract ran out. So kane would be in appropriate company.

Kanes an arsehole but some of the stuff I am reading on here. Completely in denial. He's the best player I've seen at Spurs in the last 20 years.

He's got us out of jail so many times, a machine.

We are unlikely to see something similar for a long time, thats the reality.

He's lost respect as a man but come on lets not underplay him as a footballer.
Sorry there’s no way you can say Kane was better than Bale. He never terrorized a team the way Bale did in both the Inter games. He never single handed won games week after week like Bale did in his final season before Madrid.
Kane is a great striker but he’s not the best player we’ve had in the last 20 years.

Just thinking - but if the stadium naming rights are tied to the Kane deal - that means that Spurs, Kane, and City have known for a while that this deal would go through - and these last couple of weeks have been one big charade by everyone...

Same. It’s seems dubious and unlikely to me. At least that’s what I’m clinging to :nailbiting:

Truth be told Harry Kane was our Alex Rodriguez when who we really needed was Derek Jeter.
To those not familiar with American Baseball. Both players played for the New York Yankees at a time the Yankees were regularly appearing in the post season and challenging for the World Series. During the regular season AR was a great hitter winning the Yankees many a game while Derek Jeter was a consistent but unspectacular player. Come the post season though and those roles were reversed. AR would regularly be a no show whilst DJ rose to the occasion ;he was so good in the post season his nickname is Mr. October. We could have done with HK being a consistently good striker throughout the season but a great striker in the big Cup Games and Title affecting league games. Oh well.

If he doesn't show up at all that's a huge indication he's already left and if he plays and risks injury that would infer no deal close to being finalised. I just thought being on the bench but not being called on to play would still keep people guessing and cover all bases. I do however understand your point of view.
I'm not sure why people think he would play on Sunday. regardless of the staus of any City transfer he's not match fit. He's not trained with us and it's been 5 weeks since he last kicked a ball. The same people saying he should play Sunday are the ones who complained about him starting the CL Final because he wasn't fully fit!!!!

Lots to unpack here. Much salt and reality pills need to be ingested.

Transfermarkt (no, not the be all and end all but they are reasonable) value Kane at 132M Euros. That's not his value to Spurs, but an objective number. So if the deal is 127M GBP, that's pretty much there. I have every confidence in Levy to get every last farthing for a player who wants to go. I don't want him to go, but he wants to go. So that, is pretty much that. Reality is, what teams can afford his value to Spurs? RM and Barca can't do it. The Italians are skint. Germans really aren't spending. PSG just took on Messi. That leaves the dirty money of City and Chelsea or United. That's really it. All three can outspend Spurs every season, so where is the issue? Get as much as you can and invest better. We aren't putting him up for sale. He wants to go. If we want a player at Southampton, Swansea or Stoke, can we just not offer money they cannot refuse? Of course we can. We do it all the time. Funny how we Spurs fans see nothing wrong in that.

So, Kane wants to go, City want him, Levy has a number. All with either come together or he will remain at Spurs. It cannot be made any simpler.

As for how the naming rights tie in to that, I cannot say. I assume, based on most naming rights deals, it will be a 10-20 year partnership. This will continue well in to Kane's retirement. The rights also attach to the building and all events. Not just Spurs. NFL games, boxing matches, concerts, car shows, rugby etc. So, let's say ENIC get 25M per year for 20 years (top market value based on my reading of things). It's revenue. It'll help pay for the stadium to be sure. But still not Spurs revenue. I suspect with our Nike deal, we get more if in CL. We get more if we win things. I have never read that naming rights have similar "bonuses" attached to them for the teams or events that occur in the stadium. The naming rights sponsor is paying to have the company name branded with all events at the stadium. That only benefits the owner of the stadium and the brand holder. So long as the brand holder is a legit company (and they will be) I have no issue. Do I want it to be Etihad, or Emirates, or British Airways or Esso, or Shell or any of a plethora of companies that have the resources to do such a deal? Not really. All that should matter to Enic is that they are legit, solvent well in to the future and that it is a partnership. Frankly, I always assumed it would be AIG, the sister company of AIA, if not Nike.

As I see no real benefit to Spurs beyond assisting in the payment of the stadium debt (which is an ENIC debt, not a Spurs debt), I would far rather it be called NWHL. It would mean forgoing funds, but tradition does not always tie in to funds. New White Heart Lane sponsored by..... is fine by me, even if we get less. It matters. I had dreamed all my life of seeing Spurs at WHL, and I got that opportunity (huge shout out to Italian Yiddo). Poor two games I saw, but, there I was, at WHL, as I had wanted to be since a young lad in Canada on my father's lap watching Spurs punch above their weight in the Cups. You know, back in the days when years ending in 1's meant something. Bale was in the team that day. He left, I still loved Spurs. Kane will leave. I will still love Spurs. Spurs is, and always will be, bigger than any one owner, coach or player. WE, the fans, are Spurs. If the players do not feel the same, they should move on.

Sell Kane if the right offer comes in and use the money to better the starting XI. That's the remit of Levy, FP and Nuno. Us fans just need to support the lads that happily pull on the shirt, the coach who leads them and the people who manage the team. Simples

“things are not looking as rosy as they were earlier in the week

we felt he could well stay and sign a new deal.

we are trying to push things one way or the other over the coming days either he signs a bumper new deal or goes for 160 we may take Bernardo Silva as part of that deal

problem is neither of those two are live options and we are in total limbo, city knows they have done a number on Harry and his ill equipped agent they think the price will come down the more H and Charlie kicks”

Where/What’s the suggestion that naming rights links into this?

Of course City want rid of Silva. He’s a spare part that will be very tough to move. Spurs need to demand better value in a player plus cash deal. Torres and/or Laporte would do. Do we really want to be helping out City in taking a player they don’t want AND giving them the best striker in the world? That would truly be sickening.

Interesting to note that Bernardo Silva is a Mendes client…
