Oh sorry bud, I completely missed that! Not much to read into atm, he was really poor against Lazio but that was largely due to their left side being a bit of a mess atm in general as Gosens who they thought would be taking over from Perisic just doesn’t get the tactics. inzaghi also likes to rotate all his players (defenders included) when he can. He tinkers a lot. I’d be very surprised if he wasn’t starting again on the weekend. At this point there’s nothing to read into it. Unfortunately for us.
Thanks mate appreciate it. Didn’t think there would be too much in it but thought I’d ask. Seems strange to tinker so much with your back line. But not good to hear he was really poor but I guess if that side is poor might not be his fault.
interesting they still haven’t really sold anyone, must be a big overstatement on their financial situation

I'm a big fan. Hits it sweetly and amazing passing range. Good attacking depth, and probably has a point to prove in this league.

I’d still prefer Zaha. Just feel he would offer something different when we’re chasing the game. Ziyech will have trouble displacing Deki for starters. Lovely player and wouldn’t say No if the only decent option available.

I think what Conte wants is a powerful runner, who is rapid, and ideally left footed to play as an inverted WF on the right. That is why Zaniolo was his first choice. Zaha would be my preference but cannot see that happening unless we offered silly money for a player in the last year of his contract (and not just to Palace but the player and his agent as he’d be missing out on being a free agent next summer). I’d rather we stuck with Gil than Traore or James though.

No one is 'displacing' anyone round here, we've got a game every 3 days for the next few months.

Also you cannot say that with confidence. 4 games in and some people want Richy starting over Sonny, which no one could ever have predicted, but thats football.

Zaha > Ziyech > Traore > anybody but James

Thanks Fab lol.

Good player. Would provide a good alternative to Deki (similar crossing style and shooting ability, just less physical) and is very experienced.

I suspect he'll go back to Ajax to replace Antony but he's probably the best fit for us right now.

I like Zaha too but big question marks over his sulky demeanour and if he is as effective on the right. His best seasons have been since he became a fixture on the left for Palace and we have 2 top players for that role already.

It makes sense as he’s a much more like for like replacement for Kulu. He’s not as physical but their style is similar. You could swap them in and out for each other. Makes much more sense than Traore or James

Agreed. Not a world beater, but would IMO make sense if we can get him for a good price.

Whereas I would not mind having a pure speedster like Traore as an impact sub option, I would still prioritize a player with sufficient techical ability who (like you say) allows us to rotate Kulu without changing style or a massive drop in quality. Ziyech fits that bill a lot better than most of the other players that we have been linked with recently.

The fact that the better options (ziyech and Zaha ) are so unrealistic is frustrating. This just isn't going to happen is it..

100% this. Last time the clubs did a transfer between each other was Gus Poyet in 2001.
Generally, it was the bad bloody between Levy and Abramovic which was the result of no deals being done. Now that Putins mate has gone, then I should imagine those bridges will be mended.
Enic refusing to sell, Arnesen taking our academy set up etc with him to Chelsea and Modric name a few. Roman thought he could do whatever he wanted with us and finally got the message after Modric.

Its a very valid point, but if you take out the Roman ownership era, a man who Levy couldn't stand etc, its not THAT far back. Question will be whether Boehly/Paratici care at all for that nonsense, if it gets them both what they ultimately want.
