If Draxler really is available then que a host of articles linking him with Arsenal. I would bloody love us to try and get him. I know we would never pay his fee or his wages, but he would be a dream signing. PSG are such a badly run club, he was very good last year, didn't need to be upgraded or replaced.
This is what happens when a club is bought and run for commercial/political reasons, rather than footballing ones.

Manchester City are ready to offer West Brom £22m for their 29-year-old captain Jonny Evans after having an £18m bid rejected. City are prepared to almost double the Northern Ireland defender's £75,000 a week wages. (Mirror)

Blimey, that really is frightening if those reported wages are anywhere close. In what world is Jonny Evans worth £100+k a week? Is he really getting £75k a week at West Brom, surely this is nonsense.

Does it not mean, double his wages to £75k/week meaning he's on £37.5k/week ?

If it does they missed the 'to'. Currently it reads doubling his £75k a week wage. Must be a typo. I got it........ they missed a decimal point. it should have been £7.5k a week. That's more like it.

I agree, but Shitty have been playing with 3 CBs - Kompany, Stones & Otamendi - in pre-season, and they have no depth in that position if they sell Mangala (who's rubbish anyway).

So, in addition to getting another "English"qualified player to help fill their quota in the 25 man senior squad, they're getting an experienced CB for when Kompany unfortunately but inevitably gets injured again.

To be fair they also have an interest in Mawson.

If Pep is committed to a 3 CB with wing backs system, perhaps because it gives Stones more freedom to step out, then their squad is seriously lacking CB depth.

So perhaps they want both Evans & Mawson.

As we've seen this summer, FFP doesn't seem to apply to clubs owned by nation states.

To be honest these bids being rejected and players not getting their way (VVD with Saints and Coutinho with Liverpool) is only good for football IMO.
