Mass exodus and the chairmain is the one to blame, allowing the hooligans to enter the training facilities and attacking the players. Why would one do such a thing? Mental

I think there's gonna be a lot of clubs wanting to take advantage of this situation.
Just means all the value has shifted from Sporting to the players and their agents. If there is competition for players, it’s going to end up in the players and agents’ pockets. Total cost of deal will still be high and I doubt they’ll really be any genuine bargains for the best players.

In spite of the situation at Sporting I don't really see where any of their players match our needs. I'd prefer Moura to Martins anyway and Fernandes is a decent player but in all honesty I'd prefer Grealish who is also home grown.

I think i'd prefer if Spurs were to keep on track and stick to how they had stacked their domino's in regards to player recruitment.

Like I always tell the kids, just coz something's on sale doesn't mean you should buy it.

This is a no-brainer. I'm sure it's going to be contractually complicated, but with interest as recently as early last month, bringing in this kind of quality for no transfer fee at his age is incredible. I'd take Martins on a free over pretty much every other WF we've been rumored with. Have to think Levy would jump at this situation.

I know you're joking but in normal circumstances he would have been available for 40-60m or maybe even more so him being available for free is certainly tempting to say the least.

Certainly it seems worth our while to monitor the situation for Martins and some of the other players who could fit our style as there could be value to be found. I would worry about a couple things. 1) The players could be stuck in legal limbo for awhile. While it seems to be a strong case of unsafe workplace, I'm not sure it's a given that courts would resolve that quickly. 2) Even if the legal situation resolves to where there is no transfer fee, there will likely be plenty of other money required to sign these players - agent fees, signing bonuses, and wages. That could get messy. Still, worth at least monitoring to see how the legal situation plays out and what sorts of fees are required for Martins and others.

Get him for free then sell him for 40-50m in January.World class business from us.
Honestly the only reason I would do it. Don't think he'd add anything to our team we don't have wouldn't be worth upsetting what we have now. But if we can resell him for additional funds bring it on. Don't think it works like that though.

Posted in the Fernandes thread yesterday.. we can get a lot better than Martins. Think he only got 8/9 goals and similar amount of assists in around 50 games last year. Never stood out to me when watching sporting in Europe either. Hopefully just his representatives trying to generate some publicity as he and others obviously want out of sporting
