You're adding nothing of value to the thread. There are dozens of one line posts saying exactly the same as yours.

I don't disagree that Bale signing would be a long shot. But theres nothing wrong with letting people dream.

As I have stated elsewhere, I cannot see it happening. I also cannot see a scenario where we could afford the transfer fee. If he is to come, it is because they need to balance off a purchase. On the wage side of things, he would have to accept a wage cut. That said, when he left, there were numerous sources saying we were prepared to pay him 180k/week to stay. So long as we up the weekly salaries of our main starters first, I think we could probably go in for about 200k/week for 3 or 4 years. He would be huge for marketing this year and going in to the new stadium. It would also be a huge sign of intent and a thumb in the eye of United and others. He would also be a huge help to us with more pace on the wing and on the free kick side of things. How much could Erikssen, Dier and others learn from him? How much is his CL experience worth? He is often injured (which is why I would not go above 200k/week), but he could be protected (60minutes in important games), play the CL games. If he were willing to come, I doubt there would be issues with Pochettino. If we get out of the group stages, is it not worth it? Given his past with Spurs, I feel that whatever it cost, we would see come back in revenues. We need to start winning. He carried us through stages of the CL before. He has won with RM. He is a returning Spurs player. Other than cost and the fact it is highly unlikely he would move, there really are not a lot of negatives

Now, to up the ante on the ridulocity (I know, not a real word) of this, what say we send RM 80M GBP for Bale and Kovacic. How would that go down as a record transfer for Spurs?

So we can't post unless we dream we can do things beyond our means? Let's then start a thread about a dream of doing the treble next year then, there was no need for a "doh". By the way I'm probably on the optimistic side when posting.

I'm pretty sure we could afford the fee. Wages more of an issue.

Come on £100M? I'd love him back but that much for a player his age not to mention his injuries would be a massive gamble.

We've made somewhere between 60M and 80M in sales since we last bought anyone though, so there's money available approaching the kinds of fee we'd need. His wages being three times what anyone earns at the club is a much bigger stumbling block. Nice to dream though...

I hate to sound like a dick, I know I do. But I dreamed of individuals for nearly 20 years. I'd rather believe in a team and see succcess. I just don't see it fitting on how we have progressed in our last 3 years.

This could only happen if there is a sponsor to bring him back. Nike would be a big catalyst. But a joint effort, club plus Nike is a possibility....

Bale coming home is a massive morale booster.... anyway it is fairly remote and such deal requires a long term negotiation. RM will go for highest bidder now given how inflated the market is right now.

Crowdfund anyone!

To dare is to do.

I would hate him to sign for Utd. I could accept Real Madrid when it happened, but not another prem team, ever.

I would be head over heels in love with my Club, and football generally, if he came back to us.

It's a romantic notion. I dare to dream.

I didn't say anything about only posting happy thoughts. But condescendingly telling people to wise up is very much deserving of a doh in my opinion.

Wonder if levy put a 10% sell on fee like siggy. :) Can't see bale leaving RM this year, if he does please not to another English club, would hate to see him at say the 2 mancs or Chelscum.

I really didn't mean to be condescending, but we need to know our place.
