I think the performances of our players since the cup final are a good indication of their desire to achieve great things for the club.
Football teams are very similar to the workforce of any company – a company will only be successful if they have enough workers who will go that extra yard to achieve success – if the workers are content to rest on their laurels and only do enough to get by - the company will reach a level but will not progress.
Some disgruntled fans have said that it is the managers fault – bad tactics, playing out of position or not using the rest of the squad. The manager and coach have tried to motivate these players by constantly reminding them that they are playing for their futures at the club – it has had very little impact on them.
Do most of our players look hungry to kick on and prove themselves or do they look like ‘Big-time Charlies’ who have reached their goal for the season(European qualification)and decided to have a well earned rest for the remainder of the season?
Is their mentality a recipe for future success or should the manager show them the door?
