Not only the best goal but the best moment of my life. Ricky Villa on that thursday night, I didn't even see it go in as I was only 12 and had gone to the toilet at half time and there was no way my brother and me could push our way back to where we were standing 1st half. Just saw him get the ball start his dribble then listened as the crowd drew it's breath before going mental! Gazza's free kick is a close second.

Crouch v ac milan. Was standing right above the goal at the san siro. My mate just screamed and fell over still screaming. I thought he was going to die screaming for that long.

Glenn hoddle v oxford, crouch v city and gazza v the scum are up there as well.

As lots have said, Crouch vs City is my favourite but I also love this goal:

"and here's Bale...3!!!!"

Crouch v City and then Milan.
Bale v West Ham last year.

Purely on my reactions at the time as i think i injured myself on all three. But the Bale one probably wins just because it was so late and dramatic . . . and frankly quite ridiculous.

Something wonderful about Pav's goal in 3-1 win vs Inter. Bale breaking away, feeding Pav and the Lane erupting. Wonderful memory, great night!

Oxford, though he also scored a beautifully "chipped" goal against Watford, keeper could hardly have been any more than a yard of his line.

Commentators wank themselves silly over such simple pieces of skill/goals these days, they'd have wanked themselves in to a coma over Hoddle back then.

Time to resurrect this thread!

Obvsiously not my favourite of my lifetime, but I thought I would flag this one by our old friend, Benny v Liverpool back in '09, which could easily be forgotten. We won this match 2-1. I can't actually think of any strikes better than this one, at least in terms of sheer power, certainly some equal to it, and I certainly can't think of any goal by a defender which is on the same level or better, except for Edman v Liverpool. Benoit Assou Ekotto - what a unique individual.

Goal at 1:18

Don't know if it ain't this thread already.

Glenn Hoddle v Man United.

From memory it was a free kick, he played a 1-2 with Ardiles. By this time Hoddle had run behind the wall, received the pass from Ossie about 4 feet from the ground and he did a side on scissor kick. Bam.

I'd expect 10 of his goals to be in the top 15 all time best Spurs goals. It was an honour to have watched him play.

Just checking and I might have mixed up Forrest for United. The opposition was in red and it was a midweek match.

glen hoddle with the deftest chip youd ever be likely to see!

cant remember the year but think it was 1978/9 or early 80's.. at villa park!.. 2-0 down at half time .. even with 15 mins to go still 2-0 down!!
all us spurs where in the whitton end and began trickling away.. somehow and I don't even recal who scored but we got it back to 2-2 with a couple of mins to go.. hoddle with his back to goal on the edge of the area roughly halfway between the middle and edge of the 18 yard box.. he turned and made room.. I recall as clear as day he didn't even look up to see if jimmy rimmer was of his line !.. he chipped the ball up and it seemed as if life went into slow motion...watching from behind rimmer you could see he was scrambling .. he knew he was not going to get there.. the ball seemed to take ages to slowy move in the air our way.. rimmer dived up and backwards but couldn't reach and the ball gently touched the inside of the bar befor the nestling in the back of the net.. it was rhe deftest of chips which had to be inch perfect to beat rimmer from where hoddle was... me and around 5.000 spurs went absolutely mental I ended up right at the front of the standing area abusing jimmy rimmer the ex goon keeper with various hand signals:D:D:D
if you recall hoddles chip v Watford !.. this was definatley on a par if not better sadly in this era saturation tv hadn't been invented.
but remember hoddles face in that moment like yesterday!.
