Crouch v Milan was brilliant, but more so as it made this man what he is today in the UK:

Gazza vs Luton.

Still not sure how he gets through the two defenders

"Gascoigne gets the stamp of approval" has always stuck in my head as a piece of commentary too!

Sheringham's goal vs Liverpool, not sure of the year, 88/89? It's a reminder of what a superb footballer he was. The first touch and pass from Klinsmann was sublime. If memory serves, I think even Howells made a good pass in that one!
If its the same game I am thinking about it would have been 1995. FA cup quarter final at Anfield. Was at this match.

No Ricky Villa 14.5.1981 Wembley replay ?

Surprising.
I still get shivers now watching that goal. I was behind the goal with my Dad at the time. 14 years old and went nuts.

Greatest ever FA Cup final goal and one of my greatest memories as a fan.

No contest for me really.

This was the "JFK" moment formanyof us old 'uns.

I was high up in the upper tier behind that goal and the perspective of seeing Villa on that run ..

Mind blowing ...

Also ... Archibald & Crooks was there. Also Archibald & Crooks were there too.

Our team hadn't won anything since 1973 and but dipped into the old division two for a season. Sporting Woolwich had been to Wembley the previous three years on the bounce. Unfortunately they won one of them the bastards.

It was our time to taste the success.

These two Waddle goals against Villa are some of my earliest Tottenham memories - from the first season I was taken to Spurs games when I was about 8 (probably only the 3rd of 4th game I'd ever been to at the time)

Maybe not as spectacular as other goals in this thread but to an 8 year old kid new to football in the days before mass exposure on tv like today these were both pure magic in my eyes

Can't find a clip of it, but I remember an absolute thunderbastard of a free-kick from Neil Ruddock back in the early 90's... 35 yard effort, but that could be the fog of youth over-estimating it... but I remember my jaw dropping.

Impossible to say as there's so many but this one always sticks in my mind as a favourite, we were shit at the time, they were good, and this was a screamer.

Was just about to post that one..... I was there too......
His one against Sunderland wasn't bad either. Went to that game with a Sunderlands supporting mate - he was NOT happy that day!

Two stand out for me, both from the early 60s although I can't remember the games now. Some other older SCers may recall more details.

One was John White taking a corner kick with a perfect curl on it and it went straight into the top corner of the net.

The other was Greavsie (goal poacher indeed?) running from the centre line and beating five players along the way, with some wonderful swerve and feint, and popping the ball safely in the goal beyond the reach of the keeper.

White scored direct from a corner against Glasgow Rangers in the CWC, i was behind the goal.

Jimmy did that against Utd

Has to be the first goal I really remember. Greaves with the opening goal of the 1962 Cup Final...in around the fourth minute I think
