A woman in the office was talking about her husband who's going to the game and said he might get genuinely emotional on Sunday. She couldn't believe grown men were so affected by it.

I just said you don't understand.

The Sky schedule for Sunday has changed slightly on my TV guide this morning:

16:30 The match
18:45 The Finale
19:30 Post match review of the days action
20:00 Golf (instead of Game of the Day)

Looks like it might be advisable to have the Tottenham Hotspur Facebook page fired up ready for any overrun.

Former Tottenham player Garth Crooks visits White Hart Lane to celebrate the history and memories of the famous ground before the final Premier League game there on Sunday.

We'll take more care of you Archibald Archibald...

Great memories from Crooksy, would be great to sing and hear that again as Archibald & Crooks come out

Goodbye White Hart Lane: an iconic stadium remembered by those who knew it best

Very interesting.
Personally I think they need to position the bronze cockerel at pride of place at the new stadium.
I dare say they might come round to this view in the end, but it would be better if some thought was put into designing a place for it, rather than it being randomly bolted on the roof like they've done with their bits of tat at the emirates,

Also it is very odd why they created the shelf in the first place. Normally the best views are reserved for those seated. Instead they created this raised covered terrace for the standing man at no extra charge, presumably just for the atmosphere it would create.
And I think it played its part for 50 years - it was really intimidating and I'd argue far more noisy than any kop or north bank.
We said farewell to the shelf some time ago, but parts could still be there under that corporate crap..for the next few weeks anyway.

Probably going to head to the Bricklayers on my own tomorrow as mates have let me down but want to be there to say my farewells.

Sky playing a few games so far but overall it's been decent.

Henry was classy a minute ago. Asked what it felt like lifting the title for the goons at WHL by the prick presenting, Henry refused to talk about it! Said out of respect he didn't think it was right to talk about that on Tottengams day. The presenter was gutted

  1. My earliest memory of WHL is January 1975 when I remember Alfie Conn going around Peter Shilton and hitting the post

My most vivid memory of WHL is the tic a tape reception for Ossie & Ricky on their home debut for Tottenham v Aston Villa in August 1978 when we lost to the eventual Champoins 1-4
What an entrance infront of 48,000

My dads earliest memory is Christmas Day 1945 when we played a very good Derby County team and were on the wrong end of a 5-2 scoreline!

Amazing memories. My family has been going to WHL since about 1910 when my great great grand father lived in Spitalfields

Will be a sad day seeing the old girl for the last time

Not been to see them at home nearly enough for my liking for a whole range of reasons. That said I'll still miss the old girl and the fact that we have had a perfect relationship even when our teams were guff.

100% win record starting with the vile Carling Cup game with West Ham in '03 and missing Zamora's only ever goal for us because I was still getting back to my seat in extra time when he scored. To games like Davids pre season debut against Porto with Defoe mugging off Baia with 2 identical lobs. Hell I even retain fond memories of being next to the Portsmouth fans in the PL upper despite that weirdo with the bell giving me a multiple day headache and feeling ashamed that Zokora took a nosedive.

Out of my hands or not I'll always regret missing the iconic games, but it's the beauty of that place. Big or small occasions they all stick with you for life and I'll never forget them for as long as my brain functions as intended. A bittersweet day for sure, thank you for the memories

I feel today as I've always felt: we're not leaving WHL, we're merely re-configuring the stands, just as we've done many times previously over the last ~100 years. We'll be right back where we've always been - the same patch of land, plus an extension - same Bat time, same Bat channel, in a year or so.

I do wish people would stop saying this is our last game at White Hart Lane because regardless of the commerical bollocks they call the new stadium it is still White Hart Lane and will always be unless we leave that site.

Easy to forget the Lane wasn't always about Tottenham.
Never had a Spurs season ticket, but was a regular at the London Monarchs games!!

Has anyone else been printing off the party stuff from the Tottenham website? I've got the player bingo, spot the ball, door signs and we're making some of the banners soon. I'll probably watch it all on my own as well.
