Saturday 14 May marks five years since the curtain fell on White Hart Lane for the final time. It ended under a rainbow. Glenn Hoddle, one of 49 Tottenham greats brought onto the pitch on 14 May 2017 to bid farewell to White Hart Lane, “the world-famous home of the Spurs”, raised an umbrella to the sky at the wash of colour which had appeared over the soon-to-be demolished East Stand.

I only got to watch on television, but we showed class with the send off that day.

On a side note, 5 years have seemed to fly by.

Its weird as I normally find time flies for most things but this seems a long while ago to me.
Stuck at wembley, then stuck at wembley again for another season.
The fire alarm system fiasco.
My Dad broke his ankle so we couldnt go when the stadium finally opened.
Then he got a urinary infection from the ankle operation (eh??? lol) and was actually in a bad way for quite a while
Then Covid.
Then Dad finally got sorted, got his new knee (was on to be done before he fked his ankle) and we eventually got to a match last year.
Then Jose.
Oooffff.

Yeah we did.
When we started going back to old whl he hadnt been to whl for decades. He used to go back when dating my mum, late 60s.
First game with my Dad back at whl and we beat Wigan 9.1. Was magical.
