No way around it, it's been a hell of an off-field year for him. And now recuperating from surgery on top. A rest is absolutely needed. Not sure we'll see him back him, aside from maybe a farewell stint at the end of the season but either way get well soon, Antonio.

Far more important things in life than football.

I do feel sympathy for him as a human. It’s time to go back to Italy with your family and regroup. Losing his trusted friend and colleague in Vetrone was a massive blow as well. He needs to look at his life and realize that it’s not worth wasting time on something your heart isn’t in.

A mutual exit is best. He needs to be in Italy. It can all be taken away so quickly. I really really feel staying as Spurs manager is the wrong decision for him regardless of whether it’s right for the club.

Technically this is not true or accurate but its something we are going to find out.

Well it is almost certainly true because if I told any fan of any club in the top 10 of the Premier League that either Ryan Mason or Christian Stellini will be your permanent manager they would be outraged.

Filling in for 3 or 4 games, fine but we got half a season left.

Have just felt sad for the bloke all season. Nobody is happy, he's lost multiple friends, and now he isn't well either. He needs to go and get what he needs out of his life. It never really looked like that was going to be 5 years in Tottenham, and it's never looked less like that than today.

If it's the end of him here then I wish him all the very best as he is a fantastic man and character. To see him suffering and miserable has been no good for anyone.

Let's get ahead of the revisionist history now: it has been a good time overall with Antonio. As usual with Spurs, we didn't get to see what it might have become. Overall, I'm thankful for his time with us, and for me, his time with us was a refreshing return to enjoying supporting Spurs again since before the CL final.

I agree with the other side of the argument though that it gives an opportunity to maybe actually have a plan for once and find a manager who will play a more free-flowing football we love to see as fans. Without a takeover, I still believe this will mark the beginning of a difficult, maybe prolonged period for us now.

They are not all on the same page with Poch. But you know how it goes. My opinion, he is seen as a convenient safe bet which will appease fans at the least. There is a reluctance to gamble on unproven managers. What a mess.

Considering our track record of picking managers, I don't think Poch is a bad choice.... We could do far worse

Urgh... never a dull day at Spurs (apart from 90 minutes each week :cautious: )

That's not the first time @Hercules has used the words 'What a mess' recently....

...at least it hasn't escalated to complete shit show just yet.

Give them a chance, they manged to beat City and who cares what other fans think about Tottenham. Everyone's starts somewhere, we need to get away from the notion that you need to have the best CV to be good at the job. Its like coming out of uni and jobs wanting 5 years experience ?‍♀️

Everyone likes to talk about the cv's of Jose and Conte and look a how that has turned out for us

I bet people weren't happy when the Legend Martin Jol was our manager and look what happened, hes the main reason we are in the position and he still got fucked by Levy with transfers ?

Are we the first club to have a manager on the injury list? Suppose Liverpool had similar with Houllier. Not something to beat up anyone about but ffs all the same.

It has been suggested (not ITK) on another forum that getting Poch in as caretaker manager till the end of the season and seeing how it goes might be a good idea. It would please the fans and not commit us to a permanent manager yet. I'm not sure he would want it though.

I’d much rather Tuchel on a short term

Am I the only one who wants Conte to stay? I just feel this guy is getting close to putting all the pieces together and just needs the summer to recruit in a few key positions to make us serious title contenders next season.
We have regressed massively and are continuing to do it after his summer transfer window when he signed his key target in key positions like Perisic who is horrible. How is that close to putting all pieces together
