Move on. No one is paying 120m for a guy who has potential, but hasn't hit the scoring heights to justify such a price.

No way should we buy anyone who has the potential to one day hit Harry Kane levels (best case scenario) for 120m, when we just sold actual Harry Kane for 100m. Even in today's inflated market I think he is probably worth something like 50m to us - building in the risk and the fact that he is pure potential today. I accept that to Brighton he may be worth more.

Its important to bare in mind, Levy will be acutely aware of the financial hit the club will take from not being in europe this coming season.
Some of the clubs sponsorship deals might have lesser rates for not being in europe too

Brighton are getting silly with their valuations. Its ridiculous to ask for £120mill for a player that has potential but only scored a maximum of 6 goals in a season.

Move on, it wont be us signing him.

Is it? Caicedo is 21 and made approx 45 appearances for Brighton and ultimately, they know (some) clubs will pay it......... We should have done the same when we had a good young squad, instead , we let most of them retire or leave for free.

They don't really want to sell though. They're cash rich and have a potential superstar to develop who's ceiling could be sky high. If a team wants to pay £120m for potential Brighton would bite their hand off but they know they have a superstar on their books and they have the luxury of being able to wait to maximise profit

They can do what they like when they make over 100m profit on a player like Caicedo in a couple of years. It's clubs like Chelsea that are driving the ridiculous valuations and in many ways it suits them since they remove the vast majority of buying clubs from the market by doing so. Their only problem seems to be how to filter dodgy money into the club without getting caught.

I guess the hope is Chelsea come in for him and £120m, no one else will pay that and I'm Brighton wouldn't be too heartbroken to lose him for £120m.

Totally agree. The player is under contract, Brighton can demand whatever the hell they like. They don't need to sell so if a club wants to pay ridiculous sums of money for inexperienced players then let them do it.

Get Orban and then you have Scarlett, Orban and Veliz all with a high ceiling for potential. That's less than 50m too let alone anything like 120m. That's the cost of a world class striker.

Scarlett needs to be around the squad now i think. Only way we will start to get a feel if he will be good enough for us. Train with the first team rather than some leauge one club, get some time off the bench and cup games. See how he does, he's an adult now. I hope he will do well

Scarlett looks to have developed physically over the past few months and looks more ready for mens football. Repeated managers have praised him as a future star, we just need the right loan for him now as I think he needs consistent minutes

I don't believe there is anything in this as I don't think Brighton are interested in selling him yet but if the fee is £120 mil you have to realise that the wages will have to be on a commensurate level, you can't buy a player for £120 mil and offer him wages you'd pay to a £40mil player.

Personally, i think keep him and play him as and when at least until january. Then maybe a loan

I just think in a season where we will pretty much have just one game per week, unless there are injuries there wont be many chances for him. I would love to be wrong and he was getting 20-30 minutes here and there but I think the club is still looking at striking areas (thats what the consistent links seem to indicate) and as a result that could mean less minutes for Dane.
He makes good runs, and ends up right were he should be more often than not which is a quality some strikers dont naturally have. He could be great if given the right exposure. Its very easy to forget how young he is and focus on loans which didnt work out so great (statistically speaking).

I would just rather give him a go. He looked like he'd bulked up at the friendly the other week. When he was getting ready to come on I had to double check it was him as he looked a lot stockier. He cant be that much worst than Richy.
