An ambitious club buys him now. Wanted us to get him since I first watched him in the league. He’s an incredible talent.
An ambitious club with loads of money. They have no need to sell. They’ll honestly ask for 80m+

We could spend 80m better than on one prospect IMO

Great player, would love him, but I can’t see it

Agree, but there are so few good strikers in the game now that if one is this good you do everything you can.

I find it strange how in football parlance "ambitious" basically means "risky". I guess the husband who puts his monthly salary on black at the roulette wheel is also ambitious.

Ndombele was ambitious by this view.

How about instead of this approach we try and find success not by taking big risks on deals that may or not work but instead find value in the market (as Brighton do) where the upside isnt affected but the risk is spread.

In doing this maybe we can create a better squad and preserve our financial strength - maybe even enhance it if we get players who appreciate in value rather than fall off a cliff like Ndombele.

Maybe being cautious and smart in the market is actually more ambitious than the thrill of spinning a roulette wheel.

That said, really like Evan and would love him at Spurs 😋

We have no chance. He will be way out of our self imposed price range, and he’ll have better offers. Fully 3xprct him to go to City when Haaland wants to to move to a genuinely big club and not a plastic one.
I'm interested to know what you think our supposed self imposed price range is , i haven't seen any mention of one from the club or the manager ?

Who do you think is a better prospect?

I struggle to see Brighton selling after they have just got the best part of 200 million for 2 players.

Unbelievable business.

People will laugh at me and I think that’s very fair.

But in my honest opinion, if we were to sign Ferguson and he stayed with Spurs for his career and stayed relatively injury free, then I think there’d be a very good chance that we’d have instantly replaced our record goalscorer with our new future one.

He’s that good.

He’s not available for 80m though??
A superb talent, but I'd be absolutely staggered if Brighton sold him for that little, given how they've rinsed most clubs on other signings - the only thing preventing that would be something in his contract, which i haven't seen mentioned before.

I don't necessarily subscribe to the view that we wouldn't be able to buy him if he was £100m, but i would expect us to sell Richy if that were the case because i don't think we'd have a £60m Richy and a £100m Ferguson in our squad.

So, this thread was bumped just so lots of people can say again that he's a good player and probably too expensive.

Thanks. Glad I clicked through

He was the one I wanted. Ship long sailed I think :-(
Exactly, I think everyone needs to look at what happened with Caicedo and remember Ferguson just signed a new contract and is HG. I think there’s as much chance of getting him as there is us getting Osmehen.

The only way we sign him is if we are bought out.

That being said, he's at the perfect place right now for where he is in his development.
