Just as a matter of interest, I'd like to ask those keen on Ferguson when, precisely, you expected Tottenham to buy him.
Was it last Summer when he'd made one substitute performance in the Premier League for Brighton?
Was it last Winter when he'd just signed a new contract to 2026, despite still not having made a Premier League start for Brighton?
Or was it this Summer after he'd just signed another new contract to 2028 in the Spring?
Isn’t he still young enough to do that for free on the summer holiday scheme?Oh, I don’t know. Ever heard of The Skywalk?
These ones? https://apple.news/APsT6QhAcTWuJvtrXGmNvGQAnyone with eyes could see he was going to be great last year. That's why we have scouts.
Basically we do what we did with Philips. Advise his agent to demand a reasonable release clause (60-70m) in his next contract, or wait till he's got 1-2 years left and try and sign him then. He'll still be fairly young, and no one will pay what they want now, considering everything is just potential.

Brighton are obviously keen to keep him. He's obviously keen to stay at Brighton to develop.
This isn't Spurs not showing ambition. It's a young Irish lad who chose Brighton over Liverpool at 17 because he thought he had more opportunity there. He's been proven right in this, and he's shown loyalty to the club who have supported him. Yeah, I'd love him at Spurs, but, in a way, there should be more stories like this and fewer where the big club come in, hoard a young talent and possibly stifle his development.
He may be beyond us by the time he wants to move on, but that's not a lack of ambition on our part. That's just how it is.
And we might have contacted his representatives and they told us that he wasn't interested in joining.Anyone with eyes could see he was going to be great last year. That's why we have scouts.

I think this post sums it up.Just as a matter of interest, I'd like to ask those keen on Ferguson when, precisely, you expected Tottenham to buy him.

He’s 18 years old and they are nurturing him correctly rather than flogging him to death early on.Joao Pedro has kicked him out the team so far.
A lot on here really excited about him, I'm not so sure tbh.
Didn’t he score yesterday?Joao Pedro has kicked him out the team so far.

Yes he did.Didn’t he score yesterday?
JP is a very very big talent himself tbf and much more experienced and further along with his development, it’s not a surprise he’s ahead of Ferguson tbh.Joao Pedro has kicked him out the team so far.

And also they're playing different roles anyway. JP isn't playing as the main striker.JP is a very very big talent himself tbf and much more experienced and further along with his development, it’s not a surprise he’s ahead of Ferguson tbh.
Yea but I just mean generally I think the buzz over him is a little OTT but will see how he develops I suppose.Didn’t he score yesterday?
Tbf I didn’t actually realise Ferguson was quite so young so yea fair enough I just thought the way people spoke about him on here that he’s the 2nd coming of Wayne Rooney or something.JP is a very very big talent himself tbf and much more experienced and further along with his development, it’s not a surprise he’s ahead of Ferguson tbh.
