There is still the big question on how teams actually get into the three divisions , if you use this seasons European qualification as a guideline then clubs like Spurs & Chelsea wouldn't even get into the Blue league.
There would also have to be no invites for teams into the competition otherwise an EU club not invited could go straight to the ECJ and claim that the league was anti-competetive.

Get the feeling that the end goal is franchising.

Not too keen on being the 'proud' supporter of the Abu Dhabi Hotspurs

Exactly why a football regulator is needed as soon as possible , a lot of club owners cannot be trusted including our own with Stratford in mind , although that was never going to happen with Levy's plan to demolish the London Stadium, probably one of the best ideas he has ever had.

The Regulator will also add, and reinforce existing, protections around club heritage.
The Regulator will require clubs to comply with the Football Association (FA) on its new rules for club heritage, which will give fans a veto over changes to the badge and home shirt colours, in addition to the strong existing protections for club names. The Regulator will also require clubs to seek its approval for any sale or relocation of the club’s stadium.

Wouldn't be surprised if Chelsea go for it here, maybe even Liverpool and City as well.

Any comments from those 3 clubs yet?

Yeh, Liverpool and City have said they're not getting involved. Chelsea are signing the Super League on a 14 year contract for £730 million.

Had a quick look through the proposed Super League and can't find any info on how the top league of 16 clubs is chosen to start with in its first season, so still looks to have some sort of closed aspect to it.
  • There will be annual promotion and relegation between the three leagues, with promotion into the Blue League based upon domestic league performance.
  • There will be no increase in match calendar days beyond those contemplated by existing cross-border competitions.
  • Matches will be played midweek and will not interfere with the match calendar of domestic leagues
UEFA get slagged of a lot but are they the big bad ogre , they represent the FA's of 55 countries in Europe, the A22 sports make a big deal about the ECJ ruling but the EU consists of 27 countries so just less than half of the UEFA total.
According to UEFA website the majority of income is redistributed back to the clubs & national FA's through prize money etc and keep 2.3% for running costs which seems reasonable.
The proposed new league will support 64 clubs thats seems awfully small compared to the amount of clubs that enter Champions League, Europa Leage & Conference League especially in the qualifying rounds .
How does the new league help small clubs, for example last season Shamrock Rovers had their moment of glory when they entered the qualifying rounds of the Champion League and dreamt of progressing to meet Real Madrid, what chance do they get of even entering this new league.

Big vote of go away Bernd Reichart from me.

Laporta is a bitter man... he can't even control his own club.... he's talking like a little child now 😆😆😆

"I don't care about the English clubs. They already have their own Super League"

“Oh, look at the English teams they have money. Grow up!”

But Barca have money lots of it, each and every year they generate millions, more than 99% of teams in Europe

Its bad management that sees them in the position they are today. Both Real and Barca are greedy, selfish children not getting their own way.

I could understand if its one of the smaller clubs, Bilbao, saying look at the money the premier has got.

Really hope Barca go to the wall. Ran by absolute clowns for years!

I look forward to just watching 3 el classicos every week...with Juventus occasionally turning up.

All in front of Laporta and maybe 4 other people.

And Mourinho will be managing all 3 clubs.

The wages they give players is bonkers. Them and Real Madrid. Look how much they were paying Bale. Now Bale was a world class player, but 600k a week? Mental stuff.

Messi was on more wasn’t he? No wonder Barca are fucked.

Yeah, they've made their bed and they've done their part in fucking up the football economy.

Could do with a few Spanish journalists asking him how much they paid for Coutinho etc. The premier league is rich, but that’s not why Barca are in trouble.

Laporta knows Barca are fucked without the super league, of course he’s going to say this.
Literally this. If the Super League fails then Barca won't have anywhere to hide. Very curious to see what happens this summer with a few clubs. I'm sure the club will be taking a keen interest to see if any opportunities present themselves.
