We can all pick holes in that statement, but it’s largely what I wanted to hear.
Credit where it’s due.
Credit where it’s due.
Does make me laugh that he wants a coach to ‘return us to free-flowing, attacking & entertaining football’.
The reason we have to ‘return’ to that is because your last appointment was so horribly polar opposite of this!!
If style was/is so important to him, why appoint someone like Mourinho?!
Fuck me.

We didn’t. He did.Umm.....isn't it pretty obvious that he has already answered that?
"...we lost sight of some key priorities and what’s truly in our DNA".
We didn’t. He did.
Saying it is one thing. What he does next is another. Tickets for tonight were still £60. Doesn’t seem very apologetic as far as the spreadsheet is concerned. As the owner of the club that's probably the closest thing you're gonna get to an admittance without him actually saying he fucked up.
I don't think he is including you in that "we" not sure your infamy reaches beyond the cheese room.Umm.....isn't it pretty obvious that he has already answered that?

Everything we do is in the long-term interests of the Club. I have always been and will continue to be ambitious for our Club and its fans.
All true although this feels a little different. If i could be bothered id go back and read the statements from previous years and see how they stack up with what was promised and subsequently delivered. I distinctly remember promises about not selling key players and then proceeding to sell Berbatov and Keane in the same window and then Bale after another similar promise.
Once bitten, twice shy and all that. As my mrs is always at pains to point out to me, actions speak louder than words.
It's one of those things where being cynical doesn't help you because it's not like if you poke holes in it that there's another scenario brewing is there. You have to try and find the positive in it and hope they're true to their word that they're gonna write the wrongs otherwise you're simply going to be left with pessimism and after all this is just football, it should be the thing in your life when your rationale goes out the window and you look for every opportunity to be excited.
90% of the fan base could do with that attitude. The vast majority of our fans seem so miserable. I do however think that’s an online thing. In the stadium tonight everyone is excited. No singing in the market place though.
Have we heard it all before? Might be my memory but I can't remember him publicly saying that he's fucked up before. He's made excuses etc, yes I agree.blah blah blah blah blah blah blah as far as I’m concerned
We’ve heard it all before. What was he supposed to say or what did you think he was going to say?!
Just another up market used car salesman north London bully boy who you couldn’t trust as far as throw!
The fans are also long term. Gestures now will pay off in hard cash in the future. The club won’t lose out financially. Toxicity in the fan base will equal a loss of revenue.^Whether you like it or not the ticket prices are justified from the club's POV seeing as we have to pay off a massive debt hence 'long term'.

Spot on and also there was the narrative about us needing to win something so there was some logic to Jose but lesson learned by all I think that we need to appoint managers first and foremost based on the fit for our club, ones who match our DNA and appreciate the clubs playing philosophy and what the fans like to watch. Jol, Redknapp, Poch etc.Weren't we told that Mourinho's pitch for the job included the assurance that he had a scintillating new football philosophy? Levy got duped by a snake-oil salesman.
So spot on mate, if people are picking holes when they’re saying the right things then that’s just pure out and out almost wanting the worst to happen. I know once bitten twice shy with Levy but credit where it’s due he’s said what we all wanted to hear which to be quite honest I can’t actually remember him doing previously, it’s all there in writing now so if he goes and hires Sam allerdyce then he will be fully accountable. It's one of those things where being cynical doesn't help you because it's not like if you poke holes in it that there's another scenario brewing is there. Completely agree.Have we heard it all before? Might be my memory but I can't remember him publicly saying that he's fucked up before. He's made excuses etc, yes I agree.
Him outright saying he's cocked it up is a first as far as I can remember though.
