Why are you doing that shit aggregators do when they twist stuff journalists say?
It’s near verbatim. Have a listen of what he said. Don’t think it’s misleading. Just had it on whilst I was getting ready for bed and thought I’d pass on what I’d heard.

No he didn’t. He said the club like him and in his opinion he’d be the statement signing he’d make, two very different things
Must have misheard. I’m not going to trawl back through but take your word for it.

Don’t see Eze as a standout signing I’m afraid not kicked on like I hoped he would when he left QPR and we were first linked

With Zaha having left and Olise potentially looking at a very serious injury, would Palace be willing to sell Eze? I rate him but I just can't see it.

Do they need the money?

If not then probably not but CAA Base would be pushing hard and would be a great career move for him at 25, similar move to Maddison has just made with same agency that they can reference.

Think it would be a matter of them securing a good fee with 2 years on his contract as reportedly he isn’t signing a new contract, plus he’s a CAA Base client like a number of our squad etc. so might be a matter of joining a lot of dots.

Olise would fit our needs better than Eze, but I like them both, depends on the price.

I'd much rather spend a good chunk on Vlahovic, I know he's not everyones cup of tea, and i'd also like Richy to push on and be the starting striker, but i'm worried about his injury record, not sure we can count on him for a whole season.

We've been here before when we thought we had good cover in forward positions, 2 injuries later we're in trouble.

Say Son and Richarlison get injured at the same time, we will have Veliz who hasn't played a minute for us and Scarlett as striker, the Soloman to replace Son etc etc.

I'd also like to take a punt on Orban, think he potentially could be insane.

Basically buy them all please.

EDIT: Didnt realise Olise has a potential serious injury

People keep saying Palace wouldn’t want to sell but it’s being reported in quite a few places Eze has a 50 million release clause, Palace might be forced into it.

Why did Levy want so much upfront?
You have to pay release clauses in full upfront, who knows 🤷🏻‍♂️

Kudus, Eze, Orban, Tapsoba. Give Orban a loan for 12 months to a PL team to get him up to scratch and have a Sonny, Richarlison striker option going into the year knowing that Veliz and Orban are long term options to mould.

All of our signings need to be made with the next generation of Tottenham in mind

With these premiership proven players we are linked to, I always look at the contract. If he has 3 years plus, no chance. (without a release clause)

If he has 2 years (like Eze) then start watching it. If I was to put money on it now, we will sign him next summer for around 30m. It is just what we do, we sign players from clubs in trouble or players with 1 year left on the contract....

Off the top of my head recent players we have signed from the PL

Maddison (1 year left)
Bissouma (1 year)
Richarlison (FFP problems)
Foster (out of contract)
Hoijberg (1 year)
Doherty (not sure)

Basically we are cheap (and always have been) we will buy a player when he is in the last year of their contract. So putting my money on this now, we will sign him in summer 2024.

Eze only has two years left on his contract and doesn’t sound like he is in a rush to sign a new one and is interested in a move. You just wonder if Palace learned their lesson with turning down huge bids for Zaha all these years and losing him on a free where they would be more willing to sell.

Palace losing Zaha, Eze and Olise in one window would be absolutely disastrous for them!

Think their best bet is to use him this season then cash in next summer.

They'll get less money, maybe 2/3rds of what they'd get now, but they just can't afford to lose all their best forward players in one window. I think if they lose Olise and Eze on top of Zaha they're starting to edge towards the relegation conversation.

Got very little faith in them replacing those players with similar quality.

I dont know if this is allowed here or not but I saw one of the admins post this guys info on a thread last week:

On that Spurs ITK hub one of the 'ITK's' there (Chandler) has said the plan is to go for Orban, Eze and Douglas Luiz.
Douglas Luiz would be crazyyy for us

Or Premier League players are just incredibly overpriced and not worth it when they don't have release clause/1 year contract/financial problems. So this isn't being cheap, it's being smart.

Yes we are smart and everyone else is wrong.
